The free forums at ironhistory.com have been online since Nov 16, 2003

If you enjoy history, please consider joining us.

It is free, but registration is required to view the board, and, and, and, the only way to register is to use your real first name- then leave a space- then your real last name. Plus a real email.

Hope to see you there! :)

Thanks, Chris. Bill is building it now. I was honestly

hoping you would be among those to visit.

Thanks Joe. I unfortunately (for a large number of reasons) have still yet to become a cyberpump donator and so do not have access to your work there.

This pains me somewhat, but Nevermind!!

Our new forum will require real name usage and registration. I had hoped to have

real names appear in the signature line and allow code names elsewhere but Bill

tells me this is not possible with the software he uses, so real names it will be.

I am indebted to Bill Piche for doing all the tech work because as it is now he does not sit around eating chocolates anyway. He stands to eat! :D

The board will not be visible without registration. We are seeking serious

participants such as yourself.

ironhistory.com's new forum is now open. Hope you will consider

dropping by.

Thanks to Bill Piche and John McEneany for making this possible!

You will need to register, but do not need to be a Cyberpump donator. Just like here.

As usual, there's already people who tried to sign up without following the username directions. Full name, first and last is required. :)

They were purged.

A reminder: ironhistory.com forum is FREE and separate from the paysite.

So far the sections we have for forums are:

MuscleSearch- discussion of bodybuilding history and mags etc

Musty Muscle- oldtime lifting and building

Red Pencil History- Think you read something that appears to be incorrect?

Post it here and we will discuss it.

Real first name, real last name to register. If the above topics interest you,

please drop by. Registration may take a while to process.

Joe

After two and a half months we have 135 members, which I am told is nice progress for such a focused interest.

Our registration process discourages the non-serious.

Change in policy: No registration is required to see the forums, but is required to participate.

Come take a look! :D

Back to our original policy: registration needed to even see the forum. For serious students of the iron game, this may be worth a look.

Photos are now and will continue to be a part of ironhistory.com

I have a collection of about 6,000 magazines, so we may have enough material for awhile :D

Just posted a photo of the hole in the handle of the Inch 172- which I believe Thomas used to stop the rotation.

Remember, please, real name registration is required at ironhistory.com

After 8 months online we have 293 'members' though more than half of those are not active.

Unlike other forums, I have no desire to increase membership unless accompanied by participation, so in the coming weeks I will be purging the names of those who are not active, and that means those who do not frequent the forums.

We have a hardcore base that keeps matters moving along by sharing information and stories/experiences.

Just a quick message- please join ironhistory.com if you have questions for me, rather than PM me here- most of my free time is spent there. Thanks.

We are trying a new section at ironhistory.com called Training Talk. So if you have something to offer in non-grip matters feel welcome to join us :)

Need to update the previous post- Training Talk has been eliminated after a one month trail.

We are now back to our original focus. :D

For a brief time during these holidays, no registration is required to read the ironhistory.com forums.

Have a peek.

If you decide to register, use real name only; thanks.

This is a great site - a bunch of people who have tried to ferret out the truth behind a lot of the old myths and legends- plus so much more. It's well worth the visit - I wish I had more to contribute but I love visiting and learning. CHECK IT OUT!!!

To celebrate our second online anniversary no registration is required to view ironhistory.com, for a few days.

If inclined, stop by. :D
