Just a quick question

Hello

Could someone please tell me what is the exact length (or width) of the Heavy Hammer 2 Leverage bar that Ironmind sells? I'm thinking of buying one, and I'm wondering how it compares to the "weaver stick" - length wise of course.

Thanks for your time

Hi aatu,

The knurled handle is 2 inches thick and 5.25 inches long. The length from the end of the handle to the weight plates is 8.5 inches. There is 4 inches of space for the weight plates. Therefore, the entire length of the Heavy Hammer is

17.75 inches.

Ironmind will answer that for you. They are a decent bunch.

Email them at sales@ironmind.com or call them at 530 265 6725.

Nygripfan,

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

Lets see... If I converted the inches to centimeters correctly, the length of the apparatus is approximately 45.1 centimeters, right? If I've understood correctly, this isn't even half of the weaver stick length.

Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to make my own.

You can make yourself a leverage bar which is going to be good, effective and not expensive. I took an old dumbell bar (for standard plates) and I place a 2" PVC pipe at one end of the bar. The pipe is 7" long. I fixed it with duct tape, kind of cheap but it works well. At the other end of the bar, you can fix some weigths and hold them with collars.

Do leverage bar training and you'lll get serious strength in the wrists. So far, I managed to lift a 8 pounds sledgehammer to the front.

Good luck in your training !
