SilentDude
http://www.armwrestling.com/sands04a.html It's all right there. Who's thinking about going?
Tom of Iowa2
The name of the contest is kind of confusing? Is it arm wrestling or hand strength contest?? It seems to be armwrestling...but then there is mention of the Grippers???or words to that effect. Maybe i missed something? smitty
I am also confused about the event... Is it a strongest hand contest: grippers, RT, etc or an arm wrestling event? Where is this competition?
SilentDude
I'm just as clueless as the next guy. I'll e-mail Dave Deveto or Randy and see what's going on.
SilentDude
I e-mailed Randy strossen and hee filled me in. Here's a little bit of what he said. "This is an arm wrestling contest that will also have a hand dynamometer test, in case anyone wants to squeeze it, plus anyone who wants to take a crack at our grippers will have a chance to do that. Maybe email Bill Collins for any more details you might need - should be a great event because Bill puts on some great contest and the particular competition has always been terrific." Clay Edgin
If it's just arm wrestling with optional dyno and gripper squeezings, I don't think it should be called World's Strongest Hand. There's more to hand strength than grippers...
SilentDude
I agree. Thought it was more Hand than Armwrestling.
Guest chips
I live pretty close to Reno, and would be interested in going, but like the others, I dont want to drive three hours to find out I'm at a arm wrestling contest that was poorly advertised. Jedd Johnson
I dont want to drive three hours to find out I'm at a arm wrestling contest that was poorly advertised. Hey, you never know. Those arm wrestlers might be able to teach you a thing or two about wrist training, thick bar training, and maybe even chest strength and shoulder stability. There's more to arm wrestling than straining. Surely there's some science involved, right? -Napalm Jedd-
David Horne
Jedd, Armwrestling is an incredible sport. These guys are amazing. When I was at the World champs in Poland I was in awe of some of the genetic freaks I saw, and the Russians well, they are just incredible. The Mac
Yes, there might not be many "set piece" grip events or feats, but I'm sure that anyone who went would learn a hell of a lot.
