Today's session: Grippers

Ivanko Super Gripper:

Warming up:

(1,3)-(1,5)-(1,7)-(1,8)-(1,9)-(1,10)

CoC no.4:

4 negatives

I was able to hold it closed for the full 5 seconds on 2 of the 4 negatives!!!

The other two popped open but that's alright because closing this is a world class feat after all.

My hands were smoked after these negatives so I didn't do anything else afterwards.

Recovery:

100 LB gripper:

3x failure

Extensor "bucket":

3x failure

WOW, super strong negatives holds on the #4!! Great job Big Man

I was able to hold it closed for the full 5 seconds on 2 of the 4 negatives!!!

The other two popped open but that's fine because closing the no.4 is a world class feat.

That’s awesome to hear that a 4 feels “normal” to you now! Lots of hard work to get there.

Today's session: Grippers

Ivanko Super Gripper:

Warming up:

(1,3)-(1,5)-(1,7)-(1,8)-(1,9)-(1,10)

CoC no.4:

4 negatives

CoC no.3:

1 attempt

I got very close on this attempt even after 4 negatives

CoC no.4:

2 negatives

This were very heavy but I wanted to see how many negatives I was able to handle.

Recovery:

100 LB gripper:

3x failure

Extensor "bucket":

3x failure

I am going to turn one of my training days into an attempts/closes day because I want my negatives to carry over to my closes.

It usually takes a few weeks to start noticing carry over from negatives.

I am going to start with the no.3 and work my way up to the no.4.

Today's session: Grippers

Ivanko Super Gripper:

Warming up:

(1,3)-(1,5)-(1,7)-(1,8)-(1,9)-(1,10)

Coc No.3:

4 attempts

I am super close but attempting the no.3 while fresh doesn't make me any stronger on it so I am going back to my original plan.

I also messed around with setting and I finally found the issue.

The gripper is pushing my hand open because it slides back during my set making it physically impossible to close it.

I tried placing it closer to my fingers but my pinky keeps locking up while trying to close it and my thumbpad buckles under the pressure of the gripper.

Apparently I barely even use my thumb pad it doesn't even hold the gripper in place that's how far back the gripper sits in my hand.

I tried a thumbless close for fun and it didn't make a difference.

Recovery:

100 LB Gripper:

3x failure

Extensor "bucket":

3x failure

CoC no.4:

4 No Set attempts:

I AM CLOSER THAN EVER I CAN NOW CLOSE MY NO.4 3/4 OF THE WAY WOOOHOOOOOO!!!

CoC no.3:

I wanted to try some set closes because the no.3 is pretty easy to set.

I managed to set it without it slipping and sliding.

This was pretty funny I really am a special little snowflake when it comes to grippers.

Turns out my pinky locks up while trying to close the gripper after setting it which means that my hand anatomy doesn't even allow me to use a set.

Having to stretch my muscles/skin instantly locks up my pinky.

I can push through and I have done it before while using the Vulcan but this results in me developing  joint pain in my pinky.

Great job big man- High level gripper workout!  NS grippers are tough, although I have done the below gripper a few times.

Thanks John!

I just can't set luckily it doesn't affect my gripper performance in any other way.

I always thought I was just too weak to set but apparently it is not just that.

Today's session: Grippers

Ivanko Super Gripper:

Warming up:

(1,3)-(1,5)-(1,7)-(1,8)-(1,9)-(1,10)

CoC no.4:

6 attempts

I accidentally placed it too far back in my hand on the first four attempts so I got a lot less movement this time that's why I decided to do 6 attempts instead of 4.

I did the last two negatives with proper gripper placement.

Vulcan V2:

I decided to bust out the Vulcan again

Orange spring 8-8:

2 negatives

I found a way to close it without having to set it so these felt great and didn't pop open.

Recovery:

100 LB gripper:

3x failure

Extensor "bucket":

3x failure
