the swiss
Here go the results of the comp, which was finally held at my place, in Les Rasses. 10 people participated, and I think we all has a really great time!! It was a bit of a lightweight comp, as no one was above 82kg apart from the veteran Felix Cruchaud, 52 y.o. , no training at all, but has been working as a lumberjack for 30 years, and was mightily impressive!! Overall ranking: 1) David 60 points 2) Felix 39.6 3) Pos 38.3 4) Amaury 34.4 5) Eric D 33.6 6) Gilles 28.8 7) Yoann 25.2 8) Vincent 24.7 9) Jose 20.8 10)Laurent R 11.5 In detail: Weaver stick to front: David 7.5 (3.75+3.75) 10pts Pos 5.125 (3+2.125) 6.8 Gilles 4.5 (2.5+2) 6 Amaury 4 (2.25+1.75) 5.3 Felix 3.75 (1.75+2) 5 Jose 3.5 (1.75+1.75) 4.6 Vincent idem 4.6 Yoann idem 4.6 Eric 3.5 (2+1.5) 4.6 Laurent 3.25(1.75+1.5) 4.3 Weaver stick to rear: David 9 (4.5+4.5) 10pts Gilles 9 (5.25+3.75) 10 Felix 8.75 (3.5+5) 9.7 Pos 8.5 (4.5+4) 9.4 Eric 7.75 (3.75+4) 8.6 Jose 7.25 (3.5+3.75) 8 Amaury 7 (3.5+3.5) 7.7 Yoann 6.75 (3.25+3.5) 7.5 Laurent 6.5 (4+2.5) 7.2 Vincent 4 (2+2) 4.4 Tyre Pinch: David 41 (21+20) 10pts Eric 36.5 (21.5+15) 8.9 Amaury 30 (17.5+12.5) 7.3 Gilles 22.5 (12.5+10) 5.5 Felix 22.5 (10+12.5) 5.5 Jose 20 (10+10) 4.8 Yoann 17.5 (7.5+10) 4.2 Pos 15 (10+5) 3.6 Vincent 10 (5+5) 2.4 Laurent 0 0 We couldn't do the farmers walk outside because of the snow (I live at 1200m of altitude), so we did a static hold with 160kg and then 200kg. static hold 160kg David 76' 10pnts Felix 63 8.2 Yoann 51 6.7 Vincent 47 6.2 Amaury 46 6 Gilles 45 5.9 Pos 32 4.2 Jose 26 3,4 Eric 22 2.9 Laurent 0 static hold 200kg David 46' 10pnts Felix 32 6.9 Pos 26 5.7 Vincent 26 5.7 Amaury 11 2.3 Yoann 4 0.8 sandbag (or gravelbag) shouldering (80kg) max reps in 1'30. Eric (huge hands, almost 9') lifted 19,5kg on it, and Amaury, Felix, and I lifted 18.5kg. Oh and Amaury closed my #3. pics to come! gazza
Congrats to all who competed,well done to David for his win Some pics of your new BLOB would be nice. Did you get to use those dbells
the swiss
Thanks Gazza!! pics are coming in a few days. the loadable blob weighs 14kg (which is nice to start with) and may be loaded to about 60 kilos I think (actually, it is just occuring to me that that's nice because we can do a 2-handed lift of the blob). Actually, we didn't use the dbells at the comp, because we were already having a wide pinch lift, and because we'd had thick dumbell DL a the french comp. I will probably use them next time though; great piece of equipment. been using them lately thumbless to try and do something about my terrible wrists in wrist-curls-like motions. david

EricMilfeld
Congrats to David and all the other strong gripsters! That's quite a story about the lumberjack! And Amaury, way to go with that #3! First time ever?
amaury
Eric : thanks ! Yes it's the first time ever (even though i've been very very close a few times on two of my three #3s). I'm not anywhere near from being able to do it at will though Strength comes and go. I would need a KTA cycle to get the consistancy but can't bear the idea to stop bending. I also plan to focus on thickbar in the monthes to come Amaury.
the swiss
The edited to save space guy just doesn't want to have his pic or real name appear on internet, so the person who took the pic replaced his face by something like his avatar on another forum. Big Steve
David, France might be on hold. Things are not coming together as I have hoped. I think I am going to Dominican Republic. There are some orphans over there that need some blocks laid for shelter and a fence. But you just never know. Things happen out of the blue sometimes. God is Awesome like that! Sounds like you guys are getting real strong over there. Keep up the good work!
