Fist of Fury
Interesting events. Especially the stacker, what are the rules for this and how are you going to judge it?

Especially the stacker, what are the rules for this and how are you going to judge it? I’m currently experimenting to see what could work well. For anyone wanting to train for this lift (and that doesn’t have a Stacker) I suggest doing plate curl holds with the arm at a 90 degree angle (i.e. at the hardest part of the range of motion). The Stacker really tests finger and wrist strength.

In my opinion the best way, or at least the easiest way to judge this lift would be to use real bricks, or at least use a plate where you just put the plates on freely without a loading pin. So if they fall off it's a failed lift. Otherwise it's hard to judge. People can cheat easily on this lift if the weights are attached. Climber028
I finally have a passport so barring any wild covid restrictions I'll definitely be up for this.

Haha. I hope this will be possible. Still unclear where the COVID-related border restrictions will be at by that time. Fingers crossed.
Vinnie
Not sure I can make it to this one; glad to see you are back in business though, as I do want to attend one of your comps soon (and even this one is not ruled out yet).

So easy to cheat it and I’ve never seen 2 people or more use it the same exact way. You cannot cheat the real bricks. They either stay on or they fall. Here is a demo of brick lift from when I first started messing with grip stuff. https://youtube.com/shorts/U_n36hpqjVM?feature=share Absolutely! And it's really fun also. That's a great lift, very strong. How much is the weight?

That was 2017 so I don’t know the weight. 10x5 says it’s 50 pounds possibly. Ok, yes it was impressive for sure. I have two different sized bricks. One type weighs over 3 kg and is a bit thicker and longer, don't know the exact weight. I think it's around 3.5 kg or possibly even a bit more than that. The other type weighs 2.75 kg and is a bit thinner and shorter.
Eric Roussin
Good news! As of next week fully vaccinated Americans will be able to travel to Canada, so if you live in the US and wanted to come to this contest, it will be a possibility. I give the GlobTop to Fleming due to hand size. The Stacker to Fleming given his AW wrist training. The Shallow Inch Pinch to Gravelle given that smaller hands seem to do well with key pinch events. The Handshake is a tough call. If Yves can get a good wrap he will be hard to beat on that. I'll bet the medley will decide the winner out of those two. Yves’ hand span is greater than mine. I expect he’ll do well with the GlobTop, and he’s been looking forward to it being included in a grip contest. His wrists are also very strong, but hand length will likely be a factor for the Stacker. This will be Alain Goyer’s first grip contest. He’s an accomplished armwrestler. Though he has to be considered an underdog versus Dan and Yves, I look forward to seeing what he can do.

I assume it was rejected, but on what grounds? He wasn’t quite meeting the full extension requirement.

I thought he had a small hand, but it looks like we have the same size hands. Goyer looks very strong and huge for an 83kg competitor. Check out his forearm from a screen capture from his FB: Yeah, he’s a beast. A personal trainer.
