Morgan
What is a fair price for a pair of 45 lb 1940’s York deep dish plates? Someone offered me $700 for a pair and I am still hesitating to buy those. I think the plates are in pretty good condition. Shoggoth
If you’re patient you’ll find them for regular iron price (<$1.00/pound)

So far the best deal I saw was Ivanko deep dish plates at $1.5/pound. Edited September 24, 2020 by Morgan

This year isn’t the best for purchasing due to the COVID factor added to everything gym.
Rick Browne
I have seen them sell for very high dollars on Ebay. I know a guy in Florida that has a pair for $800 Check this ebay page https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=York+deep+dish+olympic+plates+&_sacat=
DAVE101
The 1940s deep dish plates look different (thick hub, 2nd column) than those pictured which are the 1950s-‘60s version. I’ve seen them go for anywhere between free and $1000, with the middle being more reasonable. Ebay is obviously going to be on the high end of that range due to visibility and convenience. Also, list price =\= sold price. Any clown can list their weights for a ridiculous price, that doesn’t mean it sells.

Zane
I keep seeing them for around $1,000 for two 45s online but haven't found any locally yet for a better price.
DAVE101
The day after this post was made, I saw a pair on craigslist for $1 per lb. Of course it was gobbled up before I got to it, but it goes to show they aren't some impossible to find item. You can get these plates, and you can get them now if you're willing to pay, or you can get them cheap if you're willing to wait.
