Gripper training questions

Todays training 

squat 4 sets 6 rep 325lbs 

deficit deadlift 3 sets 8 reps 345lbs 

leg extensions 3 sets 12 reps 100lbs 

Ab wheel 3 sets 30 reps 

Played with grippers today 

ghp7 CCS

coc 3 CCS

cobalt block set 

ghp8 mms I was as close as you can get to closing it without actually closing it best attempt to date

Very close on the GHP8. I've played around with MMS attempts getting closer, but usually do attempts GHP block in case I actually get it. Your long hold on the cobalt is a good idea too, I need to start doing that. I close it basically every session but have never tried to hold it for a long time. What's your GHP8 rated at?

It’s not rated so I dunno. But it’s on the easier side for sure. I doubt it’s over 170. It’s a decent bit harder than my 165 coc 3 though.

Also my rogue grandfather clock showed up today so I worked up to a max on it hit 251lbs 

there’s a super series venue about 3 hours from me so I’m seriously considering trying to make the trip.

Excellent session on the video. That GHP 8 is almost there. That's closer than I am with my goal gripper.

You must be getting close to CoC 3 cert territory, eh?

I know when it comes my time to do it, I'll likely want to be able to CCS around 165 RGC, as that is the maximum recorded CoC 3. But 60% of all CoC 3s are within the 146-152 range, according to CPW's data, so getting stuck with 160+ rated 3 for the cert would be pretty unlikely.

Thanks yeah my plan is to ccs close my 162 cobalt but I dunno maybe I’ll go for the cert before I get there like you said most likely I’ll end up with a 150 ish #3

I am signed up for my first comp in April and another in July in Calgary where I live and I am seriously considering making the 3 hour drive to edmonton for super series stage 1 and 2 on top of those.
