Very impressive lifts must feel awesome breaking through the 500 deadlift barrier. Won't be long you'll be in the 300 bench club!

Have you seen good strength improvement through reps? Seems like people either swear by a few max effort closes and heavy negatives - or instead doing reps. Two schools of thought, it seems. I currently try to combine the two methods.

I have tried doing lots of heavy singles and it doesn’t seem to work for me. I kinda try to do both now. I have been stuck for a little while now though so I dunno nothings working for me right now.

My gut tells me that forearm muscles are the same as every other muscle in the human body (with some variation perhaps in things like tendon strain and recovery), which is to say, that they will grow in mass and strength in the same manner as every other muscle. Hypertrophy is specifically driven by two factors: progressive overload and mechanical tension. Strength is driven by the body's ability to recruit muscle fibers to generate force. I'd say training grippers in the same way that one would train bicep curls, squats, calf raises, or any other standard exercise for any muscle group sounds logical. Anecdotal evidence is cool, but it doesn't supersede science, biology, or physiology. Which is a fancy way of saying, I'll likely train grippers the same way I would train any other movement in which I wanted to get consistently stronger.

You're getting very close to the national record. I haven't tried any anvil type of grip implement ever. I'm like you and lift v bar once in a blue moon. I use a 2 3/8" jug from Arm Assassin to mimic it. I think I may buy an lbh though because I see it's in KK, nats, and a bunch of other grip comps.

Yeah I need to try to make it out to one of these comps would be fun. Would be really sweet to hold a national record for a bit. let me know if you wanna give the LBH a shot I’m off Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday right now.
