November 1st-my 1st Strongman

Picture this:

30-pound draggin' sled loaded with 8-45 pound plates and 2-50 pound plates for a total of 490 pounds. Running off of it are 2-5 feet logging chains that are attached to a Rolling Thunder. Hanging off of the RT is another 30 pound piece of logging chain to simulate downward pull. All of this is sitting on a soft ground/grass surface-sinking in.

Now, Imagine carrying a 230 pound stone on your chest for 20 yards, dropping it, and then picking up the RT. Wrapping your hands around it and inter locking your fingers, you pull against the weight, and strain to get it moving. The surface is slick and you wear nothing on your feet but a pair of Harley boots (cause the only pair of good spikes you own are sitting in a football locker at the school as a back up pair for you kid incase he needs them  ) The surface slightly inclines as you dig in even harder, fighting against 490 pounds of sinking weight and the urge to vomit.

You cross the line to your wife screaming vulgarities about your manlyhood only to realize you have a 265 pound waddle weight waiting to go 10 yards out and back before you can collapse.

You grab the waddle weight and start walking, almost crashing due to the swinging of the weight and your forward momentum conteracting one another. You dig in and carry on. As you hit 10 yards and begin your turn, there is your wife again in your face, screaming that you are a wimp, a puss, that you are a quitter. Time to dig in for that final 10-the weight is swinging like a huge extension of your boys, and the urge to just quit has almost over taken you.

Finally, you cross the line and the clock stops: 71.41 seconds. Not bad-atleast it was under 90.

You collapse-Ice Cream Chocolate flavored protein powder and Smucker's Natural peanut butter comes out you nose and mouth. You lay there for a minute and then ask your now looking concerned wife for the stop watch. You take your pulse. After 1 minute it is still banging away at 170 bpms. Must have been close to 200??

You stand up to lightheadedness and head for the shaded area of the deck with your water bottle.

10 minutes later-YOU DO IT AGAIN.

That was my training session today-3 times through.

I am completely and totally WASTED!

:whacked

November 1st is approaching quickly. Got to train like a MADMAN!

Rick!!!!

Where in the heck did you find a "slight incline" in your neck of the woods??? Even the local Walmart is on a friggin' mountain!!!!

I think this has to be one of the top posts for descriptive ability!!! Great idea about usin' your RT handle to simulate a big chain link.
