"trainer" for scale weights

I came up with this idea a couple weeks ago, I posted it on Instagram too but figured I would share it here.  I'm going to make the first prototype soon.  It's designed to hang weight from it (loading pin or whatever) and as you lift up on that weight, the handles pull apart from each other.  Here's my crude sketch, I would love to know what people think of it!
