king crusher
So I decided to try for the 3.5 in between my gym lifts. I'm using one of the techniques I used way back in 04 when I was working to close the 3. You place your thumb behind the handle like a wedge. You are only wedging it in there so all your working hands force is driven into the gripper. I got my 3.5 down pretty far.
devinhoo
I've done that before a few times when I don't feel like warming up or using chalk but still want to play with grippers. It's probably a great way to overload on a heavy gripper; it kinda feels like the equivalent of putting on a slingshot to bench. Maybe my setting is just garbage. Climber028
I've never done this for hard gripper closes but I used to do this for fast endurance style closes just to keep the gripper from flying across the room

The one I use that is harder than this technique is to wrap the off hand over the wrist. That helps a little too.

I'll definitely have to give that a try, might help even more since I'm not great at setting technique and this seems like a nice boost.
king crusher
Well that was quick. Tried this again today and was a hair from getting TWO reps on the 3.5 After this I tried without this method and got the 3.5 under a 1/4"

And then you post this. Very interesting! Just the confidence boost will make you can mm's!
