I would say no. Useful if you are going to compete on an anvil implement, but not necessary if you just want a strong grip.

The Rogue Anvil is easier IMO as the smaller end of it is more optimal for me compared to the end of the LBH. Taper is identical just the gripping surface is longer both directions, mostly the narrow side though. My best LBH lift in training was 264 but I have 4-5 lifts in the 270s and one at 280 on the Rogue Anvil.
