But, but why not? With dedicated training, good sleep, good food, why not?

Same as hitting a huge unlikely bench or deadlift naturally. It's just not in the cards for most people.

Definition of huge?

4.3 40 is like benching 500 raw.  Only the fastest humans will be able to do it.  315 is not 500.  Not arguing one way or the other whether 315 is the right number on bench.  But a fairer comparison would be 5 or 5.2 second 40.  Most would have to lose weight and train hard to get there, but the average guy could probably get there if they really dedicated themselves to training like their lives depended on it.  You ain't getting to 4.3 without gifts from God.  Period.

History of the NFL combine (since 1960) these men are ELITE athletes - only 52 have run under 4.3

I would say 4.8 40 yard dash is within reach for most( 17-30 age range) with proper training. 4.3 just not happening, other then once in a blue moon ,for the Woody Harrelson crowd

I ran a legit 4.64 at 30yrs old and 234lbs. I still know I'd be good for sub 5sec even at almost 42. Not too bad.

Yeah I was just trying to be funny I agree a 5sec 40 might be more in line with a 300 bench. A 500 bench is a 4.2. Most who get there probably are not natural.  Top sprinters certainly are not natural.

4.3 40 yard dash is at least a 600lb bench equivalency. More men in the U.S. can bench 600lb than run a 4.3 40 yard

Agreed.

and y’all know I’m not one to be blunt, buuuuut..... people need to stop making excuses why they can’t bench better. If they spent less time droning on trying to convince anyone that will listen that “only gifted or enhanced people can bench 315 or more.” and more time trying to prove themself wrong, then they too would understand.

other than my at times overly optimistic bench thoughts on others (600 natty), i feel I’ve got a decent grasp on what most could accomplish on the barbell without much fuss, and without having to get scientific.

so I’ll go ahead and say what I think.

any healthy, average size, athletic, serious, and determined grown ass man between the ages of 18 and say 60ish can 400/315/500. Raw. Natty. And the age I feel isn’t mandatory. Those younger than 18, or older than 60 can certainly do the same if the cards fall right. Could also be a little or a lot smaller or larger than average and do the same. And maybe even a midget could or has also! And as you can imagine, that’s not exactly a small window of candidates.

before anyone tries to pick my post apart and read it to others other than how I worded it, pay attention to every word in my previous paragraph. If you look closely, you can see that there’s no wiggle room for “but’s or what if’s” in there.

the game has changed. People are on average bigger and stronger than they have ever been. I’m not buying that new generations are growing weaker. They have just grown less masculine and have more emotion.

And for fun factor, I’ll also point out that the following posts will prove my previous sentence correct also.
