I'm light-years away from either but am I right in assuming the horn lift is easier than the pinch?

They are both extremely difficult. But I’ll let Tanner and/or Adam comment on just how difficult.

That would depend on what you are more suited for and is more of an individual thing IMO

I believe Don and Luke we’re discussing the Rogue anvil lift at the Arnold. 41 minutes ago, Joseph Sullivan said: That would depend on what you are more suited for and is more of an individual thing IMO Two hand pinching the anvil is much harder than lifting it by the horn. I mean tons have people have lifted anvils in the 170-180 range...but how many have two hand pinched one? Way less for sure

You guys may want to get in on that. Also, doing a dining stone hold with winner getting 5k. I would love to try but if it’s after our armlifting competition, I’ll be fried. Especially after silver bullet.

Way less for sure I don’t know. Haven’t seen much footage of anyone trying. Good question. Every anvil is different and the slope/shape of the horn makes a difference for difficulty, many have lift 170-180, but not all horns are created equal and someone may be more suited to a pinch than a vertical cone. Lucas Raymond is the other guy I’d like to see get into this event.

I would bet good money (say a grand ) that Luke wins this competition

Way less for sure Yes the Rogue anvil, I think you, Adam, Gil, and myself would give a damn good showing to all the "strong" monsters that are probably invited. Too bad the anvil costs $110 shipped. Absolutely pinching is way harder especially a 4" wide anvil...in order to get near the 180-200lbs mark the anvil will be between 4"-5" wide but the horns will vary significantly. My anvil is 201lbs with a 5" top and 4" wide horn which both of those are huge for both pinching and horn lifting. The dynamic of an anvil pinch removes all of the wrist flexion ability out of the movement being so wide.
Guest
Yeeeessss, I forgot how wide an anvil face of that weight would have to be, that makes a world of difference not being able to get any kind of tilt in to have wrist assistance.
