Bent press

13kg 2x5

23kg 2x5 slow and controlled reps, working on stability more than strength at this moment

SB holds

3 148#: 2s, 5s, 3s

Plate curl trainer

7kg 3x5

Wrist work

Felt weak all day. The steel snapping really takes its toll.

HORSESHOE HAUL

Nabbed a bunch of used shoes from a friend. Used shoes have the added bonus of rust and horse poop all over them, plus they're worn out in different areas.

Attempted a Werkman Striker 2 (8x22.5mm) which was worn down to 7.2mm at the crux of the bend. Stopped moving close to 90 degrees. Was too tough a shoe for a first timer to attempt. Will try some easier shoes and work my way up to this one again in the future.

Nice to see you bending some shoes!

However, people are generally staying away from used shoes since the risk of a surprise snap is bigger. I have no personal experience tough.
But might be something to keep in mind.

Glad to start bending shoes. I ripped my skin on my left hand and my right hand has tendon pain and inflammation. So id say it was a great first horseshoe session 🤣

Some are worn down at the crux and others are worn around the legs. And risk of snapping adds more excitement to the bend 😆 but ill let you know if any of them try to kill me

  • 3 weeks later...

Been goofing around with steel bending last couple weeks. Now its time to start training seriously again. Thickbar, SB, pinch, and strict style bending.

I will only log my main lifts from now on, cant be bothered writing up the entire workout

Inch trainer

53.5kg: 1, 1, 1, 2

43.5kg (wrist curl): 2x2

33.5kg (wrist curl): 3x5

Was very surprised at this lift. My previous max was 52kg so hitting this PR for multiple reps and sets was a huge milestone especially since my thickbar has been lacking

7mm x 4.5" nail iso crush finished

2x7mm x 210mm nails taped together DO finished, cheated a little on the kink and after the sweep to get out of awkward positions. My goal will be to complete this properly without assistance.

Gave one of my red nails to @David_wigren and he reversed it in singles with what looked like sub maximal effort.

Always fun to train with you brother! That double 7mm bend was really impressive! That has to be WAY WAAY harder than a red nail/bastard.

Dont know about WAY harder (maybe if it was 7") but definitly the biggest fight I have put up so far.

But full size I think only the kink is super hard and awkward. My crush is just weak 😂 soon im gonna have to attempt the 8mm stainless again properly

Bending

Horrido A2 7":

Reverse (doubles): 10 degrees. I have a long way to go until I complete this. For now its a great ISO bar

One IMP: Small wobble and then my skin tore. I need to do volume with minimal padding (e.g. 1/2 IMPs) to build skin toughness

DHWOG 158k (12mm x 19.5"): Barehand attempt, did not move. Was stupid and painful attempt 😁

Horrido 8.8 snap. I had failed to bend this in the 5 min time limit. So with some rest and technique adjustment I was able to finish it off in another 5 min with much better movement.

8mm x 180mm HRS reverse.

1/4" x 6" Grade 8 (207k Horne) wraps touching attempt. I did this DOH since my reverse is not strong enough to move it at the moment.

Strong bend! You have good pain tolerance if you can reverse bend for over five minutes non-stop 👍
