How many people have lifted the Inch DB?

Recommended Posts

mobsterone

I've a 78kg/172lbs Strength Shop replica. On Sunday my builder (working on my place) and his daughter popped over to collect scrap wood. He showed her my home gym and with ZERO warm up, but a few seconds prep, I picked it up (yeah with a tilt lol)

I had (might still have) the lift for time (no tilt) record. Edit: yep - 24 seconds. Also the Inch farmers walk (one in each hand) was an event at Mighty Mitts. I've no great distance to claim but did 2 and so, I think did Jedd and others.

I also lifted the ORIGINAL and ACTUAL Inch. As did (if only a little) Eddie Ellwood and Bill Richardson. David Horne's Gripiopedia is worth a look.

Steve how did the original feel compared to the replicas

He must be popular with the ladies.

Seriously tho, this guy could be a really great pianist and guitarist with that finger span. I hope he does something with his "talent". I certanly would.

With a thumb like that, who needs a pianist ...

Some are very close. The Strength Shop one I have isn't. Handle size is ok on thickness but the length is way off. And one side of the globes is flat

For "posterity" - my video of the lift I mentioned above:

Did you say Nick was able to get a full lift on it, or only a partial?  He's my age, so he would qualify. Cool that he was there to give you a fist bump!

I was standing directly behind him about four feet away. All I could see was his massive back and he seemed to me like he was leaning forward too much to call it a full lift. I wouldn't swear one way or another though. Maybe @AdamTGlass or @Stephen Anderson had a better view.

Thanks T! I would have never guessed that would be the setting of my first time lifting the Inch. If Tom McClure hadn't escorted us in none of us might have got our hands on it.

Technically, I have now "lifted" the Inch with right and left since both bells left the ground lefty.  😂

Was all ready to add myself to the list.  Then, instead of just riding it down, I decided to get cocky and try to throw the spasmodic thumbs up.  Of course I dropped it after my first full lift. 🤦‍♂️

Yes it's tilted.  No I don't care.  One thing at a time.

I would  give that to ya, man, for posterity purposes! !! It was just a little error! You lifted that bad boy all the way!

As for the tilt, anyone that’s gonna complain about that probably can’t lift it with 2 hands anyway.

I just want one good, clean lift.  Hopefully I don't have a stroke before it happens.

@Mike Rinderle you gotta make yourself happy and I too want a pristine lift of the Inch. Good full lift in spite of the spasticity.

I would have fallen on the floor if Best couldn’t get a full lift!
