This was one of those days where the LBH felt like it was glued to my hand. I hope to add at least 10 lbs. by K.K.

What makes this display even more impressive is the fact he did not use much of an underhand grip to rotate the plates. There was some, but not much. Had to watch it a few times!

What’s the theory behind starting the lift underhand like I see most people do?

I’ve always been super paranoid about tearing a bicep so I don’t do anything underhand like that but it seems to work well for most people.

You can lift a heck of a lot more on vertical bars if you have the wrist strength to do so. May put the biceps in a more compromised position if it’s not conditioned enough. Its definitely not a theory, I can lift way more with an underhand grasp.

Superior leverage if your arm is properly conditioned. Supination allows greater rotation which spreads the load.

I torque the Vbar hard and that works best for me, but if I try to apply the same torque the LBH my arm "turns off". I haven't figured that one out.

Yea that’s a strange one. Torque works for me on every V bar type lift.

I thought  only the 1 inch vertical bars put pressure on the biceps. Is it a 2 inch vBar as well

I'm using torque - just not as much as with the Vbar. I think I'll leave my technique alone for now😃

Every supinated lift puts pressure on the bicep, the 1 inch was more risky because the loads were so much heavier than on the 2 inch handle.

Congrats on a huge pull. I have found the exact same thing on the LBH. For whatever reason a more supinated hand does not lead to bigger numbers like it does the 2” Vbar and 2.5” Jug. Good luck in Vegas, I had to pull out unfortunately 😕

Well, only plus to that is that somebody else will have a chance to win now! I’m sure they are doing the dance of joy! 🤣🤡

It is a fun implement. As a one-off lift it will likely be frustrating. And thanks!

Thanks Tanner! Bummer you had to bail. I was looking forward to witnessing you and Adam battling it out. I wish I could bring my thick bar around to give him some competition. Who knows though, could be a monster lying in wait.
