Lennix
It's fun how weak my deadlift grip is (doh and thumbless) after not doing much deadlifts. Video here is 2 weeks before i bought my first gripper. After that I've trained so much grip with grippers mostly and also 6 months armlifting. And I broke my finger attempting 200kg monkey grip deadlift.... Interesting and somewhat sad xD Who care's anyway? Doh deadlift isnt contested anyway..

But both these lifts where when I did more deadlifting and obviously my closed grip strength was better. Fked my pinky finger 6 weeks ago on merely 200 thumbless, put sound on on video nr2 if your not faint hearted. You can hear it snap! It's not good still but getting better every week atleast.
EricMilfeld
I think I did hear it. Yikes! A pinky injury seems like it would be a rare incident when you’re gripping with all four fingers. 1

Or maybe you have highly functional pinkies contributing a good deal to the lift. Whereas mine seem to be strictly ornamental.
Fist of Fury
Must be that the bar rolls out too far on your fingers? It's always a risk when that happens.

Yea I guess.. but I could hold a coc#4 SB for 20 seconds, should be more stress on the pinky then 200 thumbless? Left broke during axle and right during thumbless deads so also different exercises. I guess their just weak and will come back stronger now ^^

You're not using the tip of the finger for that. Even if you did, RGC is still lower than half of 200 kg. If you have a monster #4 it would be about the same resistance.
Lennix
Well, so I sat in my sofa and though hmm well I might aswell try some SB now when finger is better. Managed a 12 seconds hold with #3! So well, stupid hit me in the head.. I might aswell go for #4 too xD First attempt, got it closed and managed holding it. Got the SB in there but couldn't manage the weight. Super stoked! Second attempt, same deal there. But just a tad better. Took some extra minutes rest and tried again! GOT IT! Super happy right now also closed #3 after all this.. my hands have no clue what to do but I forced it with power.
