John do you mean table curls on the arm wrestling table, or was table curl meant to be “plate curl”?

Lesson learned today that could be useful to who ever reads this:

tonight I learned it is extremely risky to attach plates to an inch dumbbell using an Armwrestling strap. During my 440 lift the plates jumped the strap to my finger->then instantly smashed it horribly-> then ripped awar nearly skinning my finger. The Dr needed to add 20 stitches to repair what was left. It currently seems the tendon is attached but I could clearly see it which was unsettling. This injury comes at the peak of my strength in a 3 of 5 year plan it will be a 4-6 month set back- I had no idea this could happen with this set up. I post the video hoping it will enlighten future lifters to not use this method- duct tape them to the globes would be far safer. I will complete the 100 day inch challenge leftie. I will move through it but man if man it’s disappointing. I was on track to for an Arnold Classic performance. Another year - a great example- be smart in your training and don’t repeat the errors others have.

Good Lord, Man O.O That must have been scary since you probably thought for a moment that the injury would have ended up a lot more serious. I don't really lift, but your take away at the end is great advice for any training.

Hi Adam!

Unfortunately, I know what it is from my own experience! 10 or 12 years ago, I attached a 1.25kg disc to a dumbbell for bench press. In the end, a similar situation occurred, but I got off easier - just minus the nails on two fingers of my hand...
I wish you a speedy recovery! You are a super athlete and I believe that your results will surprise us more than once with this hand!
