No but kinda. I’m doing a lot of volume and I’m pushing the clock that equals a fair share tut but not sets of holding position

edit worth sharing - on this day 1 year ago I weighed daily 189-191 now today 217-220 that’s what high volume deadlifting does. For the goal of adding more meat lifting the weights more times off floor superior for overall results than fewer picks but longer time gripping. I’m not looking to go to any particular weight but I’m not avoiding much diet wise either. As long as I don’t go too far past 15% bf it’s fine.

Playing the game

First and foremost conpetition is essential for the man. You are actively participating in competition or passively. That’s your card. live with it. Hate your neighbor for his better car everyday or call him out to lift your blob on Saturday. You get to choose.

Sport is when rules, judging, perform, and standards intersect. Look to the history of sport- it’s what can stop nations from going to war. It works for the macro, it works for the micro. If you’re not playing a sport then you’re living like a bitch in your daily life. Bet ya a Dr Pepper.

Its good to play and great to win.

It’s good to understand the scoring system and you need to train with it in mind. You’ll win more often when you follow the rules.

It’s good to understand what the medium averages are for the sport. Once you understand averages you can much better predict the match. Prediction saves time which allows for more gains.

Its good to appreciate the intangibles. The difference in practice and play is a mental game. Some people are a beast in their home gym and a snowflake in public. Never underestimate the pressure of test day.

It’s good to see all the ways the game play can be disrupted.

It’s great to win, but at times more profitable to lose. Learning can happen in both scenarios. Losing seems to offer more knowledge than victory.

#2 on the list usually overtakes #1.

Everyone can climb the mountain but only one can stand on the top. Towards the top it’s easier to climb than stand.

There are levels to the game. More than a few. Play only at the level you are actively chasing and have no regard for the pieces you don’t care for.

If you’re not playing one game, you’re playing another. Not all games profit the same, or cost the same. You will be paying one way or another. Calculate the cost.

King Kong 2019. Weighed 98 kg. Will post details after scoresheet is published.

Concerning the post contest hold my beer and watch this -

Steven Anderson lifted Tanners Inch replica and pressed it overhead. He bent a red nail in about 8 seconds and this was the 3rd red nail he’s touched all this week.

William Gibson and Robert Nejedly tore up a bunch of cards and nails after the contest.

The craziest of the crazy of the night was Tanner doing 6 consecutive hand to hand transfers in a single effort. Not only passing left then right then left without dropping but 6 times. This is the only time this has ever been done. No one has even scratched it. Truly one of kind level Inch stunting.

That must have registered on the Richter scale somewhere. It rattled the concrete slab you were standing on.

If you get a horse stall mat ($40-45usd) you’ll not have issue with bell or floor. I will move my training spot around Incase I’m wrong in the long haul. Goal next week 160 lifts in 60 minutes.

last inch volume day will be today, projected target is 150-175 reps lifted. That will take me over 500 reps lifted in 12 days/4 sessions. Going in to next week I will tackle the big goal for the year and gain mastery over my heavy challenge bell. It’s been 2 weeks of exceptional soreness. The recovery aspect of it as you would imagine- hungry all of the time. I bumped up my calorie intake and yet still down 2.5 lb body fat. High volume deadlifts of any stripe are productive. Do not pass but instead embrace the suck and do it

I'm used to up to 16 set of 60-70% squats but the rolling thunder 10x3 3x/weeks make me want to eat literally everything I come over and I'm 120kg already..

comically under predicted what was possible today. I’m so fried I can’t lift the bell today either hand. A few 45 plate curl & 24 kg disk curl attempts, every weight feels heavy when I touch it. I thought I would be able to break 500 reps in under 14 days but that is simply outside my recovery.

Big Steve from OK picks up this bell this weekend. I’ll take a week off hand training and return with green bell attempts. Definitely feeling a momentum to the next level after the recovery from this side detour.
