Thanks although that was a long time ago (1989). I was 27 back then.

Not much about Mikael surprises me. THAT photo surprises me.Quite an interesting  evolution you have had over the last 30 years in things involving Strength.

Biggest one ever?  Or most smaller venues lol?  Last year was 218 at about 19 venues if I recall correctly.  Would be amazing if it keeps growing!

The average turnout per venue may be lower, but I’m confident the overall turnout will be up.

I wish the guys from New York would have a cool name for their group kinda like wrestling.  James Retarides has The Charlotte Pick-Up Artists.

I like all of them because they are all mine lol.  However, I think I'd vote for the New York Yankers.  Any other votes folks?  I mean, we, the team, will get to choose for ourselves of course, but cool to know what folks think.

If you guys are the New York Yankers, does that mean we have to be the Wyalusing Wankers?

Well, at least the Yankers are the best team to be on when you can't get a lei.

Two announcements:

1. There will be a youth division in this year’s King Kong contest. This division is optional: it will be offered at the individual contest promoter’s discretion. Results will be tallied separately, and there will be small medals for the top three international finishers in each of the following divisions:

Boys 10 and under
Boys 11-13
Boys 14-15
Boys 16-17
Girls 10 and under
Girls 11-13
Girls 14-15
Girls 16-17

2. This year there will be a special golden gorilla sculpture for the overall top female (to match the one given to the top overall male).

@Eric Roussin have a question regarding the youth division. @bencrush brought this question up on my contest thread page.  "Will the youngest youth girls use the exact same implements as the adults for the contest?"

Yes, it will be the same events. We realize that this may mean the youngest and smallest competitors may not have the strength or hand size required to compete in all four events.
