Buccos1
This was my second attempt. (The first was from a harder batch @ 5/8 x 30 (187k) a few weeks ago. I had been planning on doing this the past week, but some headache issues derailed things for a few days. My training the past month was specifically for this bend, and I didn't want to waste anymore time, so jumped in head first with it. (This was my last bar from this stock too, so there was no room for error or miscalculation.) Prior to training for the Bay State Bending comp earlier in the year, I hadn't been really active with longbar bending since around 2012-13. And this stuff isn't really something you take a long break from and come back to where you were before. The pain and bruising is crazy too, when trying to (re)acclimate things. Fun, but painful! I did not think I would ever be back in the 23" range with 5/8" stock when I hung things up with braced longbar years back. Training for the Mass. comp, I though getting to 26" again would be a task. As it turned out, David Horne's comp relit the fire I once had for braced and has me planning and trying new strategies and techniques, even after all these years. This comp. has been a blast and really fun competing with people again, similar to how we were all chasing each other on the mid-bar list back in 2011-12. There are still a few weeks left in SS4, and maybe 1 or 2 more attempts.

It is crazy how long you have been a high level bender. Congrats my friend and happy new year!

Out of everything (powerlifting, grip etc.), bending is the one constant that seems to regulate everything else for me. Your progress with everything has been amazing. Lol ... I’ve had a few “projectile” bars. Was just hoping it was still on frame afterwards.

I'm stuck on training for a shorter length and getting the equipment I need to cut it on camera, but I'm planning at least one more.
