Bending a cut down Goliath bar

...the bend is lacking the flow, as I haven't bent long bars the last few weeks, but I am happy nevertheless!

Let's see what's next...

This is insane. What is a headless goliath? I have been too long removed from the bending world. Is this traditional A36 HRS?

A "Goliath" is a 0.5"x1.5" flat bar and originally 48" long. It was first bent by Eric Vining. The European pendant is a 12mm x 40mm bar, as you only get metric bars over here. We also have different ratings for the quality of the steel. This was S235JR+AR steel, which is comparable to A36 steel and the standard over here.

I have bent a couple of Goliaths and now this one cut down to 42", therefore "headless". 😄 I don't think that this bar has a different name. If so, I am fine with that, but it wouldn't make sense to me, as it still is a Goliath (0.5"x1.5"...)

Hope to get it down to 1m (40") in the future.

What’s the weight of that thing? Looks like a massive chunk of steel! Very impressive bend!

Thanks, David! Very much appreciated!

4 Kilos, 4.5kg with the original length.

This bend should not be a problem for you. The 48" Goliath is approximately as hard as the 20mm x 40" round HRS bar I have bent for David Hornes long bar list.

Congrats to the win of the Steelshredder3 contest btw!
