Gym work from tonight. Weight down about 5lbs this morning to 256# from last I checked it.

Didn't feel up to overhead presses or bicep work so skipped them both.

Did a bit of Pinch and Gripper worksets today.

I got over to the gym at lunchtime today and did a quick Bench and tricep workout. No spotter so I didn't push it beyond what I was sure I could get on Bench.

Finally got my butt into the gym again today. No spotter so didn't push for 4th rep on top set, but 3rd one moved a bit faster than last time. Did grippers after I got home.

I think I have only trained once or twice since the last post. Got really busy with work issues and other things since mid October and it is only now starting to slow down. Will try to get back training again and logging.

Did grippers testing before gripper workout this afternoon and some KB swings and presses with 16KG KB.

On Grippers worked up to:

RH almost 3reps at 160# BBE (missed 3rd by a hair)

LH 1rep at 134# #2.5

Trained grippers after.

Warm up then worked up to:

LH 2x 134# #2.5

RH 4x 160# BBE and 169# #3.5 miss by a hair.

Was going to do grippers today. Did KB warmup work then warmed up on grippers but realized I wasn't putting out max power by the time I got up into the top sets and shut it down. Still not recovered from last session I think. LH missed at 138# #3 by a little, RH went as high as 156# BBE for a single and knew I wasn't gonna get the reps I wanted at 160#.

Dinged one of my knuckles a little on my RH last time I trained grippers I think. Did a light high rep day today.

RH worked up to #2 - 106# x 30r, and lightly filed 127# BBSM x 18r

LH worked up to #2 - 106# x 15r

BW this morning was 244.8#. Probably the lightest I have been since 2008. Down from 297# at the beginning of 2020 before my bicep tendon tear/detachment. Started a new diet a few days ago to assist in getting weight down some more for health.

That was a long time ago in my 20's and over 300# reasonably lean body weight,  and 300 is good. Does crazy stuff you did in your 20's even count when you are pushing 50? I doubt I can do 205 right now. Best most recent lift was in late 2019 before bicep injury and a year and a half off at 275# standing OHP.

I think most people can't do 275, let alone past 45 years old. Still very impressive. 

Well I hit 40 last summer so I can't really remember what I was doing at 20 lol... I was doing combat sports so I wasn't pushing the weights much. Mostly push-ups and lots of running etc... 

Strong is strong regardless of age 💪
