acorn
3/27/2019 Hit the gym last night and tried to leave some in the tank on most things. Doing my best not to get injured from here on out up to the comp. At least no new or worse injuries. Elbow still a suckfest and sciatica last night and today so far. Grippers I just went for nice explosive closes, not max effort on the top ones. Bench I got a current Rep PR at 295 and the fact that the first 6 were paused makes that even sweeter. I had no spotter or liftoff so I left at least 1 in the tank as well. Squats - 5x bar and stretching, 5x 135#, 5x 185#, 5x 225#, 3x 315# Bench - 8x 135# (CG), 5x 185# (CG), 5x 225#, 5x 260#, 8x 295# (first 6 paused) Lying Tricep Extension (past head) - 9x 165# (Doing the initial pullover with these is fun) Grippers - 10x #T, 8x #1.5, 5x #2, 3x 134#, 1x 149# (closed with loud clack!), 1x 169#, 1x 176#, 1x 176# Grip work on prototype Therabar Tyler Twist - 2x 12r - Aaron
acorn
3/30 Luke was in town and joined me at the gym for some Pinch work. We had a nice group training with us including a first timer Ninja Warrior gal that I can't remember her name right now. I can't remember nearly all we did and did not write down very much unfortunately. Some Saxon, Saxon pivot top, Pinch sled pulls and Inch handle work. I remember that much. - Aaron
acorn
Had to do a very short workout last night. Wife went out of town and I had the girls so I only did Bench and lying tricep work. Never really got fully warmed up with the rushing and got out of the groove on first couple of reps on my top bench set as well. Left pec was tender on warmup near shoulder attachment. But still hit the minimum I was hoping for and didn't tear anything so that is good. 4/3/2019 Bench 8x 135# CG, 6x 135# CG, 4x 185#, 3x 225#, 3x 240#, 3x 275#, 5x 310# (first 3 paused) Lying tricep extension past head - 10x 165#

Incline bench improving each workout with less pain in the shoulder on warmups. Still can't do grippers lefty yet though. Last night I got 8x 225# on Incline and got the 169# #3.5 for a double. Squats are still out right now as they have flared up the sciatica some though. BW was 282 last night. Trying to bring that back down. I think that is a PR since my 20's before I hurt my back in 97' and took 9yrs off from training. Highest single that I have done since I started back lifting in 2006 is 375 or 385 and cannot remember doubling this since then. I think that 375 or 385 was 2012 if I remember right during pretty good training phase and I did it touch and go in push pull comp. Got 365 for a single with missed 2nd rep back in Jan or Feb of this year and that single was not nearly as clean. Narrowed the grip some too so that the shoulder would not hate it so much. I still feel like I am flaring my elbows some on concentric portion of the lift which is probably what aggravates the shoulder. Something to work on. So pretty happy and seeing progress to that 405+ goal before I am too old and broken to do it again. - Aaron

acorn
Went for a new max single last night in Bench. 385# x 1. Haven't benched that since 97'. I went back and checked and most I had done since my 20's was 375 in a push / pull meet 7 yrs ago in 2012. So I am pretty happy with this at 45. Followed up the 385 with a 4x 345# with no liftoff or spotter. That is a rep PR at that weight as well as most I had done on that was a triple. Did a bit of grippers after this and curls worked up to 8x 145#. Dips did 20x BW (291) + 25# - Aaron
