New commissioned steel scroll of a ten foot bar done today. Very hot out. 100 degree heat index. I am very happy with how this one turned out.

I did another steel scroll while training on vacation. I really like how this one turned out. Really tight with lots of twists and turns. Here is a pic

Thanks Nate! It came together really well. I have never had one stand on one leg like that. Definitely looks like a crazy tree.

Thank you very much! Was very tough to finish off. I normally never have a problem crushing a bar, but this one was hard.

New artistic scroll of a 20 foot steel bar. 1/4” x 1” x 20 foot. I worked myself up into a frenzy of sweat and exhaustion doing this one. Very satisfied with it.

Is it just me or does that look like a guy scrolling or bending?

2021 Alexander Zass Day. My hands are not fully healed from the 831 x 60d nails. I wanted to do something so I did 2 bends. 1st, a 5” braced bend from a 260kg bar cut to 5”. That one hurt my healing skin quite a bit. 2nd, I bent one of Chris’ big bolts, a 7/16 x 8” bolt. I failed the 1/2” x 14” bolt, only a slight kink. Have a good Zass Day everyone!

Video of the 5” bend:

Lying long bar bend tonight. Never done this before. 3/4 x 48”. Thought was to work on generating power while lying and being in awkward positions for bjj. Video:

This was some tough, wide steel to grapple with. 3/8” x 2.5” x 48” of hard steel. Felt like rolling with a grizzly bear. Core is crushed. Pic of bar:

Here is an attempt at a 3/8 x 10” steel spike “Horne Christmas Tree” snap/ bend. Not perfect for sure. I could not get the ends to go any tighter.

Here are the highlights: 1) current Long Bar World Record: 20mm x 40” 251 kg bar, 2) current Mid-Length World Record: 16mm x 23.5” 268 kg bar, 3) Wonder Bar, 4) Colossus Bar, 5) Headless Goliath cut to 36”, 6) 3/4 x 31.5” bar, and 7) 3/8 x 2.5” x 42” bar. All videos on my YouTube. Here is a pic of the bars:

So, coincidentally on 2022, i've decided I want to add Steel bending to my routine, officially! I'm debating on what is best for me to start with, but until then am practicing with my very wide handled GHP10 by using that bending motion that would be used for the exercise. does anyone else do this ? Also happy 2022!

Awesome! Bending is so much fun! You are doing chest crushes on the gripper? People like that drill. However, it has never felt good for me. I just do ISOs on partially bent bars.

Yup! Chest crushes is the exercise i'm using for my hardest gripper ! :) i try using varied angles, or positioning my hands on the higher or lower ends of the bars, trying to "bend" into the attempted crush if that makes sense. I do look forward to using other gear, like horse shoes, nails and such !

My one concern about chest crushes is the way a large spring gripper is facing one's chin or neck if held upright. i know snapping is rare, but if it did while that close..yikes x.x

I hope you'll be hitting new PRs for 2022 :D
