I bent the hardest Russian Iron Grip Braced bar I have today. @Ivan Beritashvili It is a 265 bar that is 12” x 11mm of hard cold rolled steel. These are nice bars. It’s a shame the company is not around anymore. Here is the video:

Here are 2 cert videos from training today.

FBBC DO 3/8 x 6” grade 2 Bolt

DHWOG 20mm x 47” braced bend. This was a tough batch of 20mm, tough on the kink.

Here is a new scroll I bent today to honor Marcel Bruin’s son, Collin who passed away at a young age. Marcel honors his son on his birthday every year with a big feat. On the Steel Shredder group he asked others to join in. I scrolled this 3/8 square x 10 foot bar today. I call the scroll: “Collin’s Challenge”.  Here is a pic:

The Beyond the Bend podcast weekly challenge is to bend something not in normal wraps. I bent a red nail rolled down the middle of an old dish towel.

@EricMilfeldwhen people bent in rags and towels back in the day, would they roll it down the middle or one on each side like we do pads now? Thanks.

Great job on the 20mm stock!  Not many people bending those.

Thanks Carl! This particular batch of steel is the hardest I have bent for long bars. Brutal on the kink.

This was a big boy to wrestle with. Widest bar I have ever bent. Hard to hold onto. 3/8” x 2.5” x 48” flat bar braced bend. Here is a video:

Good training day. I had a PR on that really tough batch of DHWOG 20mm steel doing a 43” bar. Very hard on the kink. Way off center because I had to kink with the bar between the legs method. Also, did a 5/8” double fish scroll. I had never done a double fish with steel that thick. Essentially making a 5/8 spring that pushes back against you. Here is some video and pics:

Very happy with this bend of a 3/8” x 2.5” x 48” long flat bar. When I did it for the first time last week it took about 15 minutes. I cut the time down to 5 minutes today. Video:

3/4 x 38” A36 Bend. I had not done 3/4 in awhile. This felt good. I will try shorter next week. Video:

12x350mm (1/2" x 13.75") HRS braced. A PR on braced bars for me. I think I need to find thicker steel now.

You could still go shorter on that! Onwards to the 11” x 12mm!

3/4” x 36” long bar bend for the top spot on David Horne’s old braced 3/4 list! There have been European 20mm bars bent shorter but no US A36 3/4” bars shorter on the list. Happy with this one. Video:

Strong bend and congratulations Don!  The 3/4" A36 bars get very tough under 40".
