I feel that I need more thumb pad size / strength, and I wondered how this compares with the TTK, pony clamps, etc. for training the thumb. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. climber511 Posted February 22, 2018 Share Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) The Bomb is a fairly good "test" but not really much of a tool for development in my mind. Figure I'm entitled to an opinion here as the WR holder in the event as far as I know. As to how to develop the thumb - I like Block Weight "tosses" - starting light and gradually building the weight and reps up. I had better luck with this than one rep max lifts.
