Kluv#0
This was done back in July- how I interpret the IM finger placement rules. I did not want to post on Gils thread as that is His record and well-deserved.
wobbler
Looked easy, I'm trying to get a full lift with 60 soon. I start with all my fingers touching the bottom plate per the rules, but my pinky always slides up during the lift. For plate hubs my pinky usually comes all the way off. If pinky wasn't in the way, I feel like I could use the side of my ring finger a little better once I got used to it, but no real reason to change it up. Kluv#0
Could a moderator delete this "topic" video- as I truly found out that IM rules are vague and various finger placements are legit at the start of the lift. Thanks

Having said that, Iam open to trying any technique that is helpful to my goals. Currently, I want 75lb by EOY which will be close after that I know for sure I will be able to get 80lbs(Heck I got 70lbs in Jan, with only 5 months grip training) but after that all techniques could be on the table if those are accepted at ODD contests. Actually, I learned that my pinkie needed to touch the base along with other fingers so it actually helped my 1 ounce:)
wobbler
What helps me the most is getting my thumb a little sideways, but you can only go so far and still keep your pinky on.

Dan Reinhard has some great tutorials on YouTube one is the "Hub Pinch Tutorial" which helped me out when I first started hubbing - He mentions the "bent- thumb" and says it is legit and with having big hands it feels better for him and he can get 5-10 more lbs on plate hubbing. I know several people who have many years experience on hubbing and with a thumb sideways have increased large amount so I might try it someday.
