The MashMonster - Level 9 and Level 10!??

The MashMonster Level 9 and Level 10 grippers EXIST.  The question is will anyone ever come close to shutting either one?  Was getting a Level 9 made even a good idea?

What do you think?  We just now got Morgan to the top of the MashMonster Ladder in nearly 14 years (this November it will be 14 years).

Unimaginable strength.. hard to fathom a human hand with that much crushing force. I do believe they will be closed by one of the crushgods of this era..

Maybe sooner than we think

Nathan Holle. Maybe Ioan Puscasu. If this interests them.

Yes those guys have the biggest hands I've ever seen. COC#4 is totally buried in Ioan's hand and that is from a credit card set! :D

How difficult are they in terms of rgc? I think Morgan said the rgc of mm8 would be 204-207lb, if so I'd assume there's a few that can close mm9 but mm10 maybe yes maybe no at the moment but ever of course.

There's no way to be certain b/c the MM grippers are not permitted to be rated. Going by feel, the MM7 was around 200-205. MM4-MM7 increased by approximately #6 at each step. If MM8-MM10 follow the same progression they'll be roughly 208, 214, 220. I'll let you know my impressions after MM8 attempt.

220lb rgc absolutely yes, that's very doable but really depends on if that's the case. The bbpro I have is an absolute palm bruiser.

I definitely think Holle could if he was still active. There's a training log on here that said he closed a Tetting pro which is otherwise unheard of

As Paul said, if the RGC truly is 220 lbs it's definitely possible. We have to realize that the strongest men in the world actually do not compete in grip sport or chasing gripper certs.

With that said, I still think that 220 lbs RGC is possible for people who are grip specialists.

From a choker at mms width morgan should be able to do it right now.

I guess with grippers that hard, even the setting becomes a big challenge. One has to have a lot of upperbody power.

It has already been done, I believe Gil Goodman even closed a 220# rated gripper choked to parallel and he has not officially closed a #4 yet.

It's all about leverage, when you're using a choker you can position the gripper in a much better spot, so it doesn't matter if you can bench press 300 kg, you will never be able to set the gripper the same way you can when it's clamped down.

Ok. I am not anywhere near closing monster grippers like that. For me it happened that if i could close a gripper in a choker for 1-2 reps, then i can close it without a choker from the same width. But at that level its probably a whole different story.

Yes the heavier you go the harder it gets. It depends on the individual as well and how you train.

220lb+ has been done MMS and by more than one person but totally depends on the gripper and how hard it is through the full ROM too. As far as strongest men in the world not competing in grip, yes but then again its apples and oranges. Ive always said the strongest powerlifter or strongman doesn't beat the strongest grip guy in an all round grip contest. With specialist training possibly but without it they will lose points on the none thickbar events. Specific to crushing strength, ive trained with loz  in the past who's one of the strongest in the world for sure and although very good grip he could only beat me on two hands pinch and don't think could beat Steve (mobster) at anything, maybe two hands pinch dependent on the day. He could wide set close a #3 and tried a #4 I was doing choker work with once and got it to 3/16th. Brian shaw couldn't ccs #3.5 but again very high level on the pinch and thickbar events (Loz was no mug on these either). In summary, whatever they do they will be very very strong in but beat the best no, grip is a different sport.
