Recommended Posts

Alright, Sauerland Gripchallenge l
will be held on the 23rd of September in Rixen, Germany.

Events:
2 Hand Axle
2 Hand Euro Pinch
20mm Blockset Grippers (both hands)

In that order, and to IGC/Nags rules.
Calibrated and/or competition plates will be used and a well calibrated pair of scales to weigh in the competitors.

Entrance fee is 10€ payable to me up to the 15th of September, or 15€ cash on the day.

Cold beer and BBQ will be provided. :-)

Special invitation to all the old school gripsters from way back when, you know who you are!

I'm not gonna bother with 8 different weight classes for four competitors.

There will be a overall winner,

and a winner on Wilk's.

Good news. Simple contest and up to the point. I will try my best to come my friend.

I've heard people complain that they won't drive hundreds of Kms for "just 4 or 5 disciplines" years ago.

But I'd rather keep the comp and the social gathering separate. I still got some Blobs, Sledges, kilos of nails...

a power rack, farmers handles... and there will be plenty of time to get stupid afterwards.:cool

I'm terribly sorry, but I had to reschedule:

The comp will go down on the 23rd of September.

I just booked the venue yesterday, this date is final.

A nice approach! :-) :-D

Would have loved it, but unfortunately I can't make it, as I am on vacation... :-/

This after comp action in the early years were the most fun part - often enough. Gripmeetings completely  without competition were my favorites!

I'm in!

I'll take the following grippers to the comp: (rated by cannonpowerworks - RB400 rated by Axel Hoffmann)

CoC3 145
MM2 166
Tetting Elite 170
GHP8 179
RB400 230 !! For Gabriel :-)

I have a lot of other grippers but not calibrated. My best 20mm Gripper strength was at 179 for 3. Now my gripper strength is at 150 for 3 :-) Have to focus again i think! Horseshoe bending destroys gripper strength? @camz

What Euro Pinch width will be used?

I look forward to this grip challenge! Finally a real gripper event!

You can ask for any width from 24 to 84mm in 6mm increments.

If I remember correctly the RB400 is a fat handled monstrosity.

I will only allow regular, rated grippers, no narrow grippers and no grippers with fat or thin handles.

I will do my best to get a 180+ gripper, though. ;-)

Hi Christoph,

wenn du nichts anderes hast könnte ich dir meinen 182er COC 3,5 ausleihen.

In my year of horseshoebending I lost nothing! I could CCS my RB300, which I couldn't before. On the other hand I never trained grippers for a longer period of time...

But I think it's hard to train both if you really want to excel in one of them! Especially with your pulling hand on bigger shoes (the torque gets tremendous!)...

OK, I'm super tired right now...

We pulled on a more or less brand new Axle pretty slick. Axle God Brixa would've pulled more otherwise. :-)

Results are here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vTk4q9qu9F90rEo3TGo9SadbKJBAR8pwcNueYZRRicP3vecDeYaKVJ0f34MTBLr9ANXpzTJHCGgp5V4/pubhtml

Marco Buhl won Pinch, Grippers, Absolute, and Wilks...

Edit:

Sorry, missed attempts are missing, just realised the spreadsheet would've been able to handle them, oh well, next time.
