Closest exercise to grippers

Hello everyone, I'm not able to buy  grippers any time soon, so I'd like to still train the movement through other equipment.

What's the closest exercise that can be done with barbells and dumbell to mimic closing a gripper?

Try out finger curls on a barbell.

Get two brooms, overlap the ends of the handles 6" or so, and with one hand grab both together to lift. It won't come off the ground unless you squeeze the handles together.

That's a lot of leverage, you wouldn't need much weight. Try it with two sledgehammers but it's going to be very difficult.

Check out some John Brookfield youtube videos for grip exercsises with random equipment.
