mobsterone
Yep. Tubular with flat ends as opposed to a globe style. If the hand is allowed to touch the weights it's that much easier to lift (stops the whole thing wanting to rotate). More so with the flat ends. The bell is made of two 9" cylinders of bar stock joined by a 6" handle thats 2.5" in diameter. if you need further information contact Dr. Terry Todd from the H.J. Lutcher Stark Center for Physical Culture and Sports.
mobsterone
Baring in mind I met Mark Henry back in the day (he came to my house lol) and communicated with Terry Todd at the time I recall some of the back story behind his bell. He told me, in person the story of driving the Hummer he'd won in the first Arnold strongman competition to a,thing he was doing (at a school I think) with a brother and the brother who'd come along for the ride picked the Inch replica he had off the back of the car and put it on the floor - one handed. Mark then explained what made this special (Todd having told him). He also mentioned an uncle who was 'real big' (when I met Mark he was down from 405lbs to a 'light' 395) Sometime later, as was the case with how some of the earlier challenge dumbbells back in the day, he'd had a company make him the bell that became the Mark Henry 300lbs dumbbell. Now it might be BS but... anyway it was the usual thing of 'I told them what I wanted but wasn't overly specific and they, thinking I wanted something a bit different from what I intended produced this'. It arrives and not only is it 300lbs and so much heavier than Mark has intended but beyond Mark's ability to also pick up. To the best of my knowledge he's NEVER picked it up etc etc.
