Paul Markowski
Found out today that I am capable of closing a GHP #6 gripper while choked to parallel BUT I still cannot officially close that same gripper when I have to parallel "set" the gripper myself. Did not realize that there is/should be a difference.
BenMorrissey
When you choke a gripper you no longer have to set it optimally, whereas when you set for MMS you will find that no matter how good your setting ability is, the gripper will have moved back slightly compared to a choked gripper. Also, setting requires you to use up some force in order to reach the position, whereas with a choked gripper you can use all your effort just to close it. I can do 3-4 reps with my #3 choked to parallel, but I'm still 1-2mm off closing it MMS.
