Never stop chasing challenge

Hey everyone. A few months ago I came back to the forum and grip training in general after a few year hiatus. Well, I am back into my groove, and committed to not only closing a COC3, but I want to cert on it by end of next summer. I will post my progress along the way, and hopefully a few videos as well. Anyone else who is fully committed to any big gripper challenges should also post here and make this a big motivational thread!

More to come. Stay tuned.

Okay best attempt at a video. Warmed up a little and closed the coc2 and coc 2.5 a few times, then a grand master, followed by some shots at the coc3.

Hey ya'll.. Workout for the night. Took more time off than normal. Really getting beaten up from arm wrestling practice.

1. Warmed up with various day grippers for some high rep sets

2. CoC #2 x 5

3. CoC #2.5 x 3 right, RB210NL x 6 left

4. RB300N x 1 right, Tetting SM x 2 left

5. FBBC 3x 129 x 1 right, easy, same left

6. King Kong no set x 1 missed right, same missed left

7. CoC #2.5 x 3 right, RB210NL x 6 left

8. CoC 2 x 5 for 3 sets right, Coc 1.5 x 5 for 3 sets left

Finished with some sledgehammer work. Kept it vertical and slowly rotated larger circles till dropped.

Been out of town for work again... I think I am done traveling for a while, and I can finally get back into a routine. CHEZ, I will call you this week and structure a better routine.

Couldn't get into a good groove tonight, but closed a GHP6 pretty easily.

Rock and roll

Okay, finally got in a solid workout that I feel pretty good about. I worked with an old buddy, Chez, on a routine that I am going to work on perfecting over the next few weeks as I find out which grippers suit my program best. Tonight's workout as follows, and this is for right hand, with a similar routine left handed, with slightly easier grippers.

Sport x 20

Trainer x 12

CoC1 x 10

CoC1.5 x 3

CoC2 x 3

CoC2.5 x 1 first working rep

CoC2.5 x 1

GM x 1

GHP6 x 1

240N x 1 (138)

KingKong x 1

RB300N x 1 (miss)

CoC3 x 1 (miss - close to same rating as RB300)

210 x 3 (missed third)

SM x 3 (missed third)

GHP5 x 3

Felt pretty good, and still worked on my sets, both hands. I was moving around a little because I am aligning my grippers based on difficultly again, as it has been years since I properly did this, so now is the perfect time. Next week will be more structured based on how I felt tonight.

Chez, I will have that list for you in the next day or two.

Ya buddy. As soon as I get that list I will come up with a workout for you to try and we can tweak depending on how the first workout goes. You got this Sean!

Following! What's the plan for the new workout moving forward?

Hey pburke23, I wasn't structured at all during my workouts, so I worked with a good friend, Chez, to put a more set routine into place. This will hopefully do two things:

1. Better track my progress week to week as I compare stats

2. Increase my one rep, and two rep endurance from repeated sets

More to come

Thanks guys, I felt pretty good. I think next week I can push harder, based off of my workout. Haven't done negatives in years, so that was a little tough to get used to, in terms of finding a level suitable for holds.

I am going to do this for 5-6 more weeks, then try again at a rated #3 (150, and/or 152).

ROCK AND ROLL!!

Awesome and fun thread to follow along!!!

Saw you write something early on about AW-training? something you do regularly?
I am asking out of curiosity due to me always having a hard time figuring out how to manage gripper-training (and/or reverse bending) while I also have AWtraining with the team 1-2times/week (mostly 1/week but then that AWsession will be a real doozy...like yesterdays practice...).

All the best!

Hey guys took a few more days off but will hopefully get a grip workout in tonight. Here is a pic of my little set up of grippers. A few are missing because a buddy has been getting into it, but it's most of what I use anyways shown here.

Hey ya'll,

Just checking in. Still training, but I am not posting up my workouts or anything. Priorities are a bit wack right now.

Hands are feeling healthy, progress is slow and steady, and looking forward to some nicer weather training.

Over and out.
