Been 4 days of eating junk, haven't trained... Got married last Sunday...

Thinking about trying the GHP Challenge again... Last year, did out of no where, maybe this year put some training in & rep the level 8... I think contests are out for awhile...

Thought about training grippers, but hands were sore from hitting the heavy bag yesterday... Tried front squats again, 1st time in a long time... decided to try ring deadlifts... kinda went light...

Last night hit some grippers after squats... Been close to a year since squating over 500 lbs...

Been training grip lighty, taking it easy. But, after hearing from The Garden State Phenom Tim Butler about the central NJ grip together. I'm thinking about just have fun with it! Screw the comp, mess around with some implements. See some old faces, make some new friends, & drink some brew-hahas afterwards... or during lol

Haven't trained since last Thursday... Was really sore & feeling beat up...

After a full weekend of activities with family & friends, I'm ready to train Again!

After bunch of squats & rolling thunder... did 220 lbs, but slipped out at lockout with the right. Broke ground with the left. Decided out of no where to train these again.

Haven't posted a workout... But, today, I guess the stars align!!!

After a wacky day at work today, decided to train... Was thinking about taking a rest day....

30 minutes on exercise bike

3x10 KB swings

3x10 KB balance squats

*10 total reps 2 KBs 1 in rack position & 1 on side of opposite hand 5 reps each side*

5 sets of 2 high pulls to hip snatch

15 total sets of singles

Snatch from the floor

5 sets at 135 lbs, 155 lbs, 175 lbs

*working on snatch technique lately, 175 lbs felt easier*

3x10 modified shrugs

5x1 flask lifts 80 lbs

*Right was good, left not so much... kinda felt sore, probably from 2 days of heavy bag work*

3x2 2 35s plate pinch each hand

Then tried something I haven't done in awhile...

Almost gave up, but it was on my mind during 20 minutes on exercise bike... Watching Hacksaw Jim Duggan...

Now, enjoying grip training

Started out with boxing & MMA training this morning...

Did some bench press training...

30 minutes on exercise bike

3x20 total reps KB push press

*2 KBs at same time then 1 arm at a time*

15 sets of singles on bench press

5 sets at 275 lbs, 325 lbs, 355 lbs

3x10 1 arm bent over DB row with resistance band

3x10 DB back flyes lying on flat bench

1x50 straight arm pull downs

1x50 band pull aparts

3x10 JM press

3x10 zottman curls

3x10 modified band crunches

3x10 ab wheel

Rolling Thunder!

3x1 145 lbs both hands

3x1 180 lbs both hands

Then...

Not a PR, but I'll take it!!!

But, it gassed me out...

30 minutes on exercise bike again

Haven't posted in awhile...

After realizing, the Tim Butler Grip Extravaganza was this Saturday, last Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday did light grip work after main workouts. Week before did a lot of boxing training. My back was bugging me during the comp week. What didn't help, I had to help family friends move into their new house that morning. But, did well competing in the Tim Butler Grip Extravaganza at Savage City Strength. Had a lot of fun during the comp. Strength felt good!

Today was not a rest day... Only did cardio & core after finishing my task list from the wife... YAY!

After the event, may have to get a tips tester! That was a fun event at the Tim Butler Grip Extravaganza!!!

Monday was more cardio, rows, & pull ups... Strengthen up my beat up back!

Tuesday: trying to go light

30 minutes on exercise bike

Front squats

3x2 135 lbs

2x2 205 lbs

5x2 275 lbs

Snatches from the floor

5x2 155 lbs

Overhead push press

5x3 195 lbs

*went a lot easier than I thought!*

Back Squats with heels evaluated 3x10

Plate Pinch transfer... more like side to side passes

2 35s 3x10 total reps

2 25s 3x20 total reps

Then...

Now, time for tacos!!!

Who knows what training is for tomorrow!

Side note:

Had a lot of fun at the Tim Butler Extravaganza last Saturday. Got me in the mindset of having fun with grip. Not thinking about grip events. Maybe, on December 1st, is a small jiu jitsu/submission grappling event, the mma team is thinking about doing. It's a maybe, but I'm not driving myself nuts like events prior. Shall see what happens...

Wacky Wednesday!

1 hour of cardio

*watching Summer Slam 1989*

5x10 kettlebell swings

5x3 hip cleans with fat gripz 175 lbs

*somewhat kinda inspired by Wade Gillingham, just a different spin. On 4th set, it did slip from my hands. I think this could help thick bar events... still want 400 lbs on the 2" Country Crush!*

3x10 Modified underhand grip pull ups

*in squat rack, feet on bench*

3x10 caber pulls

5x2 wrist wrench deadlifts both hands 80 lbs

3x20 2.5" crusher replica deadlifts

*it's a painted handle, so very slick*

3x20 globe deadlifts 

*last 2 movements were super light. Hands & wrists felt it tonight!*

Thinking tomorrow will be cardio... Being a rainy & snowy mix... Maybe, some boxing in the dungeon basement

The wife made pasta with meat sauce, so I was hungry!!!

Monday:

1 hour of cardio

5x10 KB swings

Box squats

315 lbs 5x3

365 lbs 5x1

*lower back was tight & low carb day*

3x10 walking lounges bodyweight

I'm gonna sum up my grip training with these videos...

 

 

My hands especially my right feel like it was stabbed... I believe this might be the only time this week I train grip... But, never know... Tomorrow, might be kickboxing class with my good friend!

Well, didn't train last night, no kickboxing. My friend backed out early in the day & my back was starting to act up. Today is a new day!... But, work was a bad day!

30 minutes on exercise bike

5x10 KB swings

3x10 KB alternate squats

10 sets of singles snatches!

3 sets 145 lbs

3 sets 165 lbs

3 sets 185 lbs

1 set 195 lbs... was an ugly PR,  years ago, but went up easy tonight... very happy!!!

5x10 close grip pull ups bodyweight

3x10 2 KBs front squats

Bulgarian bag complex 3 sets

5 reps spins one way, 10 reps good mornings, 5 reps spins other way

More of a rotational complex 3 sets 10 reps each

Broomstick twists, med ball twists, KB side to side transfer

3x10 ab wheel

10 sledgehammer finger walks each hand

30 minutes on exercise bike again

Been watching quite a bit of throwing videos lately... Who knows what tomorrow brings... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Haven't been training grip, been saving the hands towards boxing training recently. Also, have the mindset of training more of Olympic lifting, also some kinda like strongman. The lower back is still being a problem at times

Today, had off from work...

30 minutes on exercise bike

5x10 KB swings

5x2 BB front squats 275 lbs

5x2 snatch balance/snatch grip BTN overhead press

2 minute round of 1 arm DB clean & press 75 lb dumbbell with a fat grip AMRAP... did 16 total reps

2x25 ab wheel

30 minutes on exercise bike again 

Black Friday did 5x2 push press with 225 lbs & snatches with 175 lbs 2 reps

Alright, Tuesday did some kickboxing... Yesterday was a rest day...

30 minutes on exercise bike

3x10 KB swings

3x10 double KB front squats

5 sets 2 high pulls to hip snatch to hang snatch 95 lbs

Did snatches no set range just trying to max out warm up 95 lbs to 205 lbs!!!

*Happy with 205! It was ugly, probably a glorified front raise. Be 3 red lights in an Olympic lifting meet, but I'll take it!!!*

3x10 caber pulls

3x10 each leg Bulgarian split squats bodyweight

3x10 ab wheel

1x50 each hand GHP level 3

20 minutes on exercise bike again

Shortened because my wife brought home dinner!!! Got a salad & chilli at Wendy's lol

Side note: watching my wrist which is affecting my elbow. An old arm wrestling tendon injury rearing its ugly head!

Recently, been feeling beat up, thinking for December, taking it easy. Lower back & right shoulder sore more often. Just let my body heal. May train grip heavy at times, thinking about throwing again. Just training, but been raining, backyard looks like a swamp...

This is from my crazy Saturday... Since, my niece's birthday party was postponed to a later date...

 

 

After boxing & jiu jitsu that morning...

Training some lifting, but adding some unconventional movements & implements...

Grip wise, more thick bar especially wrist wrench & titan fitness 2.5" handle... Pretty much it...

Maybe, inspired by the Arnold classic arm lifting event...

 

 

Not so much grip training, probably hands feel good again...

Still training towards boxing/mma & unconventional movements

Did this after some kettlebell & macebell work!...

Decided to try these without straps & no chalk... this was after 5 sets of 10 with straps... getting easy with the weight loss...
