Been training... Lately, last 2 weeks, been more Olympic lifting & MMA...

Tried some highland games training turned into a sad time...

Also, tried some pulls on the flask...

Happy 4th of July! & belated happy Canada day!!!

I haven't been posting much on here for workouts. Just got back into bodybuilding program. Last 2 weeks was half assed Olympic lifting. Thinking about competing after the wedding. Maybe, king kong challenge &/or jiu jitsu. Shall see, hopefully my old bones hold up!

Recently, my weight has been around 280 lbs... Started to think, my new goal is to be around 265 lbs at the wedding...

Last Saturday, July 14th, decided to change my training after having a lukewarm mma session & watching catch wrestling world championship tournament. Saw those guys, thought to myself, I need something different...

So, recently, saw some posts from former elite level powerlifter Chris "Ox" Mason, was 1 power 1 Olympic. Which is main workout 1 powerlifting moment & 1 olympic weightlifting moment. Decided to train my spin on that concept... Not using crazy weight, but want to build up week by week...

1 hour of cardio both days

Monday:

5x10 KB swings

5x3 back squats

5x3 power cleans

3x10 posture chain shrugs/rows

3x didn't count reps walking louges bodyweight

5x1 flask pulls

Tuesday:

3x10 KB goblet squats

3x10 empty barbell overhead squats

3x10 KB side to side transfer

5x3 snatches

5x3 pause flat bench press

3x10 Country Crush bodyweight pull ups 

3x10 posture chain DB rows

3x10 Bulgarian bag spins each direction

5x1 wrist wrench deadlift

Tomorrow, probably, more towards cardio. Maybe, more kettlebell swings & sledgehammer finger walks. Thursday through Saturday, might be 3 mma & grappling sessions. Saturday afternoon, could be strongman training in backyard or going to sourland mountains for stone lifting with friends...

Today was more of an active recovery workout... I guess that's what I think it is... 

30 minutes on exercise bike

10x10 KB swings

5x10 band pull aparts

10 sledgehammer finger walks each hand

1x100 COC trainer parallel set each hand

30 minutes on exercise bike again

Pretty much, done with lifting til Saturday... Who knows what's gonna happen...

Ok, did 3 straight days of MMA & jiu jitsu training. Saturday, thought about my best man/good friend was supposed to do some boxing & strongman training Saturday afternoon. But, it was a surprise bachelor party!...

Today back at it!!! Kept it the same from last week...

Hour on the stationary bike

3x10 KB swings

3x10 2 KBs front squats

5x3 box squats

5x3 power cleans

3x10 Bulgarian split squats each leg holding 25 lb dumbbell

3x10 superset 

Posterior chain shrugs rows & band pull aparts

5x2 flask pulls

3 sets 2 35s plate pinch 5 reps each hand 10 total reps

5 sledgehammer finger walks each hand

Forgot to mention, Tim Butler & Shawn Parisi asking me to partake in a grip event at a Delaware strength gym. One problem is it's around my birthday, so may have to skip due to family & friends... But, never know with me...

Ok, 3 days of training in one post!!!

Been feeling up & down this week, probably the humidity weather.

TUESDAY:

30 minutes on exercise bike

10x10 KB swings

5x10 close grip pull ups bodyweight

5x10 superset

Modified DB back rows & straight arm pull downs

30 minutes on exercise bike again

*Tuesday felt really out of it*

WEDNESDAY:

30 minutes on exercise bike, only session 

3x10 KB sumo squats

3x10 KB alternate 1 arm press each hand

3x10 overhead squats with weight held by bands

5x3 snatches

5x3 pause flat bench press

*only movement, this week, an increase from week before*

3x10 yates rows

3x10 band pull aparts

3x10 walking lounges bodyweight

Ring deadlift...

Warmed up, made a quick jump to 400 lbs, got it with right no hook grip... But, ran out of gas after that...

THURSDAY:

30 minutes on exercise bike

4x10 KB swings

5x3 strict overhead press

5x3 push overhead press

3x10 close grip pull ups bodyweight

3x10 plate good mornings

3x10 each straight arm side twist with resistance band

3x10 incline sit ups with resistance band

3x10 knee ups

5x2 wrist wrench deadlifts

1x50 COC trainer parallel set each hand

30 minutes on exercise bike again

Tomorrow, I want to take a rest day... Saturday, helping fiancee's friend move... that I did not volunteer for... Who knows Sunday?... Seeing some posts & videos of the Dinnie Stones, so got the itch for stone lifting... Taking a break this week from MMA & grappling training... Lower back is tender from last week...

Sunday Funday!!!

Since, Saturday was volunteer moving day, decided to train. Wanted to do a lot, make up for yesterday. Probably, overkill today.

30 minutes on exercise bike

10 rounds on the heavy bag

30 minutes on exercise bike again

Outside training, some sled pulls, tire flips, keg toss for more strongman

Did some highland games, shot put, weight for distance using new technique, new caber named The Demon tried turning it, but not today

 

 

After that...

Flat bench press 5x10

Close grip pull ups bodyweight 3x10

... I'm done & was ready to eat

Hectic Monday!

Hour of cardio

3x10 KB swings

3x10 KB sumo squats

5x3 hip cleans

3x10 Modified DB back rows 

3x10 band pull aparts

3x10 walking lounges bodyweight

3x10 back squats heels evaluated close stance

Tried 2 hand flask pinch... struggled with that

3x10 1 arm flask pinch light

Decided to try something I haven't done in awhile...

Tomorrow, no lifting, probably going to boxing & kickboxing class. Wednesday is an aniversary dinner with my fiancee. Thursday, hopefully, will lift!

Kinda just disappeared again... Still training, but more towards the MMA side. Did some grip training, but producing lackluster numbers in my opinion. Nothing really to my liking. Well, wad thinking the Delaware event & king kong... Instead of king kong, I'm more interested in a 2 day catch wrestling workshop on that weekend. Tim Butler & Shawn Parisi are still wanting me to go with them to Delaware. I don't know, still day after my birthday. Don't think I wanna compete around my birthday... But, shall see if nothing changes.

Never got them rated. When I was thinking about certification they're not rated so kept training them

Did a jammed pack workout, in 2 days is my wedding. Be a stressful time recently. Mostly, today was 10x1 snatches & 10x1 bench press, lots of auxiliary work
