acromegaman
I have an issue when I set grippers because they pinch my palm skin every damn time so I came up with a mocked up set block that really helps. I am going to make a better one as long as this setup would be okay to use during competition. The pin that is sticking out is stationary and after the block sets the width the pin is pressed down during the close to move the excess skin out of the way. Thoughts? This could really help a brother out of it was permissible. Pics on next post.

acromegaman
1.) The issue. Caught flub. 2.) The solution. 3.) In action. It would be removed after the close and it all happens fast.
exarmy
I can't see how using that would offer any performance benefit other than stopping your palm skin getting pinched, so if it were upto me i'd allow it!

Jared Goguen
I think it should be allowed. If all it's doing is pushing the hand meat down so you can close a gripper then its it's not aiding you in anyway.
acromegaman
It helps me out. I believe this might be a way for me to start working grippers.
canthar
If you place it wrong you end up getting it caught between the gripper handles so in that sense it would only hurt your performance not make it easier.
JHenze646
Where do you position the dogleg? It looks deep in your hand.

Cannon
I want to believe this can be corrected with your set technique.
Squeezus
At the moment, I can't see how this would assist in the close of the gripper aside from pushing your hand skin back. I would be in favor of allowing this in a competition.
gripmaniac
I see no issues with this from a comp perspective. Am I correct in assuming the flub is an issue irrespective of how deeply you set the gripper?

I think this could could be true. @acromegamando you have short fingers? I see you pull the handle towards your wrists and not inside your hand. acromegaman
I have 8.250" hands and worked with people on the set and it still gets in the way regardless of what I do. I have a lot padding in my hands.
Grind
Can you post a video of you setting and closing a gripper without the pin?

Anthony C.
While I don't see this making the gripper close any easier, I don't think it will be allowed, simply because it is a modification. In competition once, I was told to take my watch off during a pinch event. It just is what it is.
Mike Rinderle
I had the same problem early on in my gripping. Learning to set the gripper more forward in my hand got rid of the the skin pinch and made my crush stronger. It looks like you have the back leg too far back. Work on your set and I bet the whole skin pinch issue goes away. It did for me. Good luck!
NPieper
I agree with @Anthony C.. While the modification doesn't aid in closing, it won't be allowed due to it being a modification.
