Griparn
You train MMS or CCS? Seems like there are many Swedes here
Hockey Stick
Hi Griparn I use a GHP setting block (1" or 1.5 "), or I just do MMS. When trying with a credit card it is only easy grippers I can manage, for me it is a big difference. It is fun to follow a log from a guy from the same country:) BR/Göran

Hockey Stick
1 hour ago, Hopefully said: For me too, but I think alot of it is neurological also. If you'd focus 100% on the CCS for a month or two you would be substantially stronger. Probably, we usually become better on something we do often. If it was not for being in balance and preventing injury, I guess the best thing would be to stick to what you would like to be good at. Good luck with CCS #3, I believe you will succed BR/Göran

Hi Viceversus I am not there yet with #3, maybe 2-3 mm left. I am a little weaker compared to were I was 2 years ago, at least with grippers, and I feel that I still have an issue with the setting which always has been hard for me. I believe that the best thing for my grip strength would be to work with thick bar training in some form, it feels like my forearm develop when I try it and I am convinced I can make progress. The thing is that I try to work my body in parallel, (not in the log today), and thick bar training is taxing for me and I have to balance and choose what I do, grippers I can always throw in during the other training, it is just fun But tonight I might order a thick handle dumbbell, (do not like the feeling of a rolling handle in my hand), we will see, I am thinking about it BR/Göran

Extreme fat grips DODL on 80 kg BR/Göran Well done! People say you can't progress in both fatbar and grippers what's your take on that? Is the nr1 priority still closing #3 anyday of the week or do you feel you already reached that?

Hi Lennix, I also believe it is hard to improve on both at the same time, at least if you are a regular guy and are following a high volume approach on thick bar, 3 times/week with several sets of repetition or something. It feels like you teach your hands, (and brain), to hold on to something, not to crush it. But maybe it is easier to benefit from both at the same time if you keep the volume to the lower side on both. I will try to close 3 in a good way, not just maybe or barely, I will give it 10 more training sessions, and then I probably switch to thick bar training for a period and see what happens with my grip if I concentrate on that for a while.
