A short Gripper training, Vulcan V2 Chrome spring:

Warming with 1,5" block (left/right)

Level 6 (1x5/1x5)

Level 9 (1x3/1x3)

level 10 (1x1/1x2)  

Stopped! Everything felt hard and heavy, decided to wake up my central nervous system with weights before continue with working set.

Bench press:

20 kg 1x10, 60 kg 1x5, 90 kg 1x3, 95 kg 1x1, 100 kg 1x1, 107,5 kg 1x1 (= PR, 15 years ago I pressed 105 kg)

Back to gripper, 1" block

Level 12 (1x1/1x4)

Level 13 (3x1 negatives left & right)

6 lb sledgehammer with 30" shaft:

Forearm pointing straight up, 2x6 rep.

Strict rear raise 2x6 rep.

Rotations left/right 1x6 rep.

Lift from floor 2x4, could not do it with hand at the end of shaft

Lever to face 2x3, right hand no problem with hand at the end of shaft, left weaker.

10 kg plate curls 3x3

Everything in above done Left and Right

I have been doing some cardio work during the weekend, (cross country skiing, 5 sessions).

But tonight I did something for my strenght again.

Deadlift overhand grip 120 kg 5x5

Plate curl 10 kg 3x6 (left & right)

Bench (part of warming)

Back to 2hp

71,5 kg 1x1 (easy!)

76,5 kg failed (supposed to be my working level)

71,5 kg failed

tryed some other lifts but stopped, nothing worked today, dissapointment.

Did som grippers Ghp1-5, stopped also this, super weak.

Sledge routine + dynamic thumb.

Back to watching TV instead.

51,5 kg 1x 5 sec, 1x 8 sec, 1x 10 sec, 1x 28 sec, 1x 28 sec  (decided to lower the weight and increase time instead-->felt like I had time to really connect brain with hands during 28 sec)

Standing military Press

50 kg 1x8

55 kg 1x 6

57,5 kg 1x5

60 kg 1x2

Finger curl (overhand grip)

50 kg 3x15              (decided to lower the weight and do it strict with wolume instead)

Wrist curl

35 kg 1x13, 1x10, 1x8

Reverse wrist curl

20 kg 1x9, 1x6, 1x4

My strenght is going backwards this week, but I guess that is how it is sometimes.

First time I managed to set level 13, not a perfect set but iy worked anyway. Happy with this!

Squat: 60 kg 1x5, 80 kg 5x5

Bench: 60 kg 1x5, 80 kg 5x5

Row: 50 kg 5x5

Grippers: Vulcan Chrome spring

Warming: level 6 to 11

Working:

LH: 13 N, switch to cheating with the set 13 VN, 13 1x1, 13 VN

RH: 13 1x1 (video), switch to cheating with the set 15 F, 14 1x1, 14 1x1

Wrists: light weight but a lot of volume

Today I changed technique on squat and bench after watching some instruction clips on youtube, BIG change for me, hopefully to the better, we will se.

GHP5 3x1  Overcrush to holds                          (on the left hand it was more of a close to hold, not strong enough for overcrush)

CoC3 3x1 Setting & forced to close  (not negatives)

Thumbs:

Dynamic on a pony clamp.

I will stick with basic program until April, but maybe every 4.th training session I will do some grippers so that I get used to them.

Hello,

The Vulcan is completely different then Torsion grippers in the force build up, with chrome spring the force is basically at maximum level from the first mm. but the force do not increase as with Torsion, it stays more or less the same--> it is difficult to compare.

 

Anyway!

  1. I managed to close level 15 for 1 repetition (cheating with the set) when I was borderline closing my CoC3.
  2. And My Vulcan level 13 is harder then my CoC2,5 (believe that I have a hard CoC 2,5) in the sweep, but probably easier in the last mm (finnish).

I believe that if I can do reps on my Vulcan level 15, then I can close my CoC3 properly.

Good feeling during training, and i can now notice a difference in the size of my forearms, they are getting bigger.

I guess it is something positive for my grip strenght.

2-3 inverted reps on level 11, LH/RH, had to force them shut,... hands fatigued by the negatives.

Overall a larger gap between LH and RH then usual.

A mix of Squat & Chins (holding on to a piece of Wood):

Warming up to 90 kg 1x3, followed by work sets 100kg 1x3, 1x3, 1x1.

Good feeling from griptraining, no pain anywhere, (even tough I have felt that the muscle between thumb and first finger is a little bit overtrained right now)

Also tried to lift a 32kg kettlebell hooked to the same piece and it worked, but it was a better feeling to hang on to it.

Bench:

20 kg 1x10

60 kg 1x5

80 kg 1x5

85 kg 2x5

Rows:

60 kg 1x5  (to heavy today)

50 kg 5x5

I am changing my technique in all the basic lifts, have had to lower my weights by 10kg all over, but It feels good doing it this way.

I believe that by doing everything strict my weaknesses shows, I really feel that my weaker parts are working hard now.

I had company by our teenager, 19 years. She had better technique then me first time she deadlifted, managed 90 kg easy:)
