bencrush
Jake, you beat the Blockbuster world record by quite a bit. I hope it's recognized as the new record soon.
JakeNS
I hope so. I have videos and pictures of each lift. And every weight was weighed multiple times and calculated in a spread sheet prior to contest. So I hope it all works out. I've beat the record unofficially at home pretty much every work out in the last 4 weeks while training with Jeff Parker. But my best has been about 94ish lbs prior to this contest but this was while I was in the middle of my workouts. So I'm pretty pumped about getting a few PRs. I guess a weeks rest/recovery and the adrenaline from the comp gave me the extra 6lb boost.
KapMan
Wow, you destroyed this contest jake. Some solid lifts by everyone across the board too. Was the blockbuster one handed?
JakeNS
Thanks, yes everyone did a great job at the contest! Yes each event was one handed lifts. Edited April 10, 2016 by JakeNS

anwnate
Hmmmm. For my first lift...I'll warm up with a new World Record by 2lbs. You know... get an easy one in the bank to I make sure I don't zero the event. Hmmmm...that went well. I think I'll destroy that mark 3 more times...maybe add 15% more weight to the former record. Hmmmm...that went well. @JakeNS

This is a rather new implement so I had to try and get as big of a gap as possible. But If someone breaks it at the Odd Haugen coming up ill have to keep working to get even higher. Who knows what Kody would have pulled if he was there on Saturday. Probably 150# knowing him.

odin
Incredible work Jake; I remember trying the IM pinch block a long time ago and was really discouraged by it. Great FBBC Crusher and v-bar lifts too! Congratulations to all the competitors!

Jeff Parker
Really fun contest and well run. Jake had some awesome trophies made. Ironmind pinch Jake DOMINATED! I had seen him pull over the world record multiple times before the contest but he just blew it away contest time, congrats. I pulled 77.57 right, a lb under my PR, then did just what I had been doing for the past 2 weeks, pulled 80lbs a few inches off the ground. I did get a nice left hand PR of 75 though. I really like this implement, waaaay faster than a euro for testing pinch. 3" crusher Again I hit under my PR with 114.38, I had done 116 before the contest. I tried 116 and 117 and floated both a few inches off the ground. Although I prefer the 2.5" crusher, I also like events changing up in grip so I enjoyed this one. 1.5" vbar My new favorite event. It really tests the grip but comes with none of the pain and skin tearing that a 1" vbar does. I hit way under my PR of 252 with a 240.63. Turns out I should have used my left as I kept lifting with my left and hit 255 fairly easy and a 260 partial. Did some fun lifting with the 2" vbar and Jakes 100 and 125 junior inch Dumbbells after, tons of fun. I'm still sore and can't wait to get back to training for the next contest. Thanks to Jake for hosting and Frank, Adam and Rachel it was nice to see you and compete with you again.
