Training so far:

August

On my first attempt on 23rd August 2015, I was about 6mm away from closing a #1, so by no means did I have a strong base.

23/08/15 - #1 30 (6 x 5) closes on a 8mm object.

24/08/15 - #1 40 (8 x 5) closes on a 8mm object.

25/08/15 - #1 50 (10 x 5) closes on a 8mm object.

26/08/15 - #1 First close. 1 x 10 singles.

27/08/15 - REST

28/08/15 - #1 20 (4 x 5) closes.

29/08/15 - #1 30 (6 x 5) closes.

30/08/15 - #1 40 (8 x 5) closes.

31/08/15 - #1 50 (10 x 5) closes.

September

01/09/15 - #1 60 (12 x 5) closes.

02/09/15 - #1.5 First close (surprisingly easy). 1 x 20 singles.

03/09/15 - #1.5 30 (6 x 5) closes.

04/09/15 - #1.5 35 (7 x 5) closes.

Happy with progress so far. From first close of the #1 to first close of the #2 in 23 days.

Plan is to continue adding volume until I can switch to consistent doubles on the #2.

Thanks, I'm sure things will slow down enormously for the #2.5 and #3.

Bear in mind 17 x 5 = 17 clusters of 5 singles spread throughout the whole day while at my desk. There's no way I could complete this in a short workout, or recover from the volume if I went close to failure.

Videos to track progress are a great idea. I'll take a few days off then try to film a #2 close, hopefully I can get more than one.

It's not unbelievable. In the beginning you will have massive gains with grippers if you're dedicated. It was the same thing for me. Then to get to the #2.5 was harder, that took a while.

It's not unbelievable. In the beginning you will have massive gains with grippers if you're dedicated. It was the same thing for me. Then to get to the #2.5 was harder, that took a while.

You wanted proof so here you go. 2 hard reps with the #2 from near parallel. After doing high volume for 3 weeks I'm switching to lower volume + higher intensity, #2 singles with the goal of more total reps every day. After this gets easy I'll move onto doubles, then triples.

Also ordered a HG250. Based on Cannon's RGC data (http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=44657&page=1)they rate about the same as a #2.5.

I figure that's about right since it's siignificantly harder than the #2. I'm about 8mm from closing it right now.
