Royz
Thanks for posting all these vids Jedd. Great to see all of you do your best and having fun!
EricMilfeld
I did miss not making it out this year. I've been focusing on powerlifting since fall and doing grip just for fun once a week. I might make it out next year just for the fun of it, especially if someone else from Texas is interested in going. And congrats to all who put it on the line and competed! Jedd Johnson
Thanks for posting all these vids Jedd. Great to see all of you do your best and having fun! My pleasure. Great artwork I saw from you for the CPW shirt. Here's Part 2 of the Wrist Roller. Lots of different techniques on this event. There seems to be a combination between going as fast as possible, while also turning the roller as FAR as possible. That seems to be the most efficient method. Here are 3 other things I've noticed: 1) Getting low - all the best times saw people crouching down. That seems to optimize the ergonomics of the event. Standing up seems to stunt your pull distance. It seems that quick and far turns beats quick and short turns. 2) Share the load - some people kept the movement too localized to the hands and forearms. Must get the entire body into it. 3) Gotta use the thumb - some people went thumbless and that looked to be a mistake.
andurniat
Great technique analysis for the wrist roller. Long stroke, with full body movement is key.
