Good job on those closes, Evan!

J.

thanks Juri, but I don't think the CoC 3 attempts were closes. What do you think about my set, does it look parallel? thanks for the feedback brother!

For me the set is alright, it nice and parallel, but don't go deeper. I think you missed the first attempt, but the second one was better!

Was away from home a little. I did only 2 training session in those off days. It wasn't even a session, just a few tries on my chocked GM (closed from 15mm, failed from 20mm).

I even bought my first #3.. (unrated)

My #3 feels a little harder than GM. Did all oiling and crushing.. It has 2.928 spread

Then 2nd attempt looked very close but the set is great. What is the rating for the #3?

thank you Sam . 148 lbs rated by CPW. When I first got this one the guy on ebay claimed it was 144 but I wasn't sure so I sent it to CPW for rating a few weeks ago.

#148 is by no means easy, even a few #'s can prove challenging. I'm sure the MM0 title will be with you soon! Couldn't tell but did you chalk your hands?

thanks man, I did the attempts in between 2" crusher and Vbar sets and I used chalk at the beginning of my workout but not a lot, just to keep my hands dry. I made a mess in the past with the chalk at this gym and I try not to use too much now because I think it's not even allowed (at the climbing gym it's not a problem). The guys working there have been very cool so far asking me about all the grip training and letting me bring my stuff every time.

Now I have two CoC 3s 148 lbs and one 153 lbs. I'm thinking of keeping one of them at work 10-20 mm choked and try to close it throughout the day to get used to that very end range. I think that a good thing with choked grippers is that it's less likely to get injured because you are working at a very small range.

I choked my #145 to parallel and can close it consistently but trying to set it to parallel is all about technique which can be frustrating as one wrong move can make the attempt fail
