Are you only posting your main lifts and keeping your accessories to yourself?

Nope. My routine really is this bare-boned minimalist. Only other exercise I do is walking and some grip on most Sundays.

Accessories are for young people with decades to live.  Us old folk need to make every lift count.  😆

It's amazing how well it has been working for you. I'm eager to see you kill it at Nationals.

Thank you!

I think the main reason it works for me is simply it’s the sort of training that best motivates me. Keeps it fun.

Very impressive Eric!

I know quite a few guys in their 30's who'd be happy to hit 500 for a single. Seeing you smash it 5 times with 562 was awesome,

Do you figure in any extra recovery time after an effort like that or just train as normal?

I really appreciate that, Raymond!

Yes, I’ll be getting an extra four days rest on deadlift, so I should be arriving in Chicago nice and refreshed... and fat and happy; I’m not cutting weight anymore!😍

Eric- You know you're moving serious weight when the whole damn house shakes when you're putting the barbell down! That was a really impressive set!  Good luck at your meet.

Haha! Yeah I noticed that shaking and thought it provided a certain air of impressiveness. 😆

And thanks, Steve!

Super-strong pulls!  Resetting like that is pretty brutal.

Yes, dead-stop pulls are entirely different than bouncing or touch-and-go.

I am. And dare I say, “it’s about time “.  For about two decades I didn’t set a single lifting PR. I was either Jiu Jitsuing, running, gripping, or bending, with my bodyweight ranging between 163 and 217.  And then in 2014, with raw lifting becoming popular, I decided to double-down on my first love. Eating big and exploring a wider range of rep ranges have been key to kickstarting my progress. I realize it’s probably nauseating to see my little “PR”s popping up every week in my log, but they are my main motivating factor. I do feel a slowdown coming on, though, so I may be inventing new PR categories soon: gimpy hamstring squat PR, sore erectors deadlift PR, inflamed shoulders without coffee on a early Sunday morning after a shit week of work PR, etc. And thanks for the support, buddy!

That was a an all-time best by 17 pounds.  Happy with my depth and form.  No weird niggles, except for a left shoulder pain from deciding to throw jabs at myself in the mirror after watching too much Butterbean. Yes, 51 going on 12.  😆
