So first workout of 2023.

back and bench - exercises, sets/reps, weights are unimportant right now as they will change.

“Gripwork” = behind the back wrist curls

The last few years haven’t gone ideally from a physical development standpoint. I haven’t stopped trying to do something but I didn’t log about it. I will try to post something interesting things along with the workouts moving forward.

I have taken suggestions before with some good/interesting results so why not again. What would you suggest I make with this steel?

The possibilities are endless, there is a so many things you could do with it. Do you want to make one thing or multiple?

its hard to say, i'd probably think of family or friends and make stuff they would like.  Get some rough sewn lumber to mount them too. Make sign or something.

Thurs. - shoulders and arms

It felt good to get some volume in. With the decision to reevaluate my athletic endeavors, I will be doing varied things like arm work.

 

Friday - Squat building

squat 3x5

deads x5

calves and reverse hyper

I had ran out of time before work so I committed to doing this workout when I got home at midnight. All weights are light with calves and hypers unweighted but I got the work in. Win.

i decide to make a release knob for my shop press. The 2 inch stock is pretty big for my Taig lathe. I would have been better off making a disc and a shaft, then assembling them. I guess it’s good learn/practice experience.

First horseshoe of 2023

Through the cycles of re/injury and rest, I have lost all my horseshoe bending strength. This DC1 rim was challenging.

I missed logging last week’s workouts. I didn’t do anything too exciting so I’ll skip it.

mon.

squat - up to 205 x 5

planks and Bw lunges

I made this “robot” bookend for my wife. It should keep things from falling off the shelf.

I missed logging another week’s workouts. I didn’t do anything too exciting aside from reinjuring myself.

No workout today. Maybe tomorrow.

Following re-injury, I only missed the following Monday.

The rest of the week has been unremarkable.

friday

squat 185 3x5

curls, skulls, rev. curls, french press.

rev. hyper

 

i am considering making a belt squat set up to see if that helps. 

Also I think it’s time to sell off my farmer bars and 12” log.

i Hope your doing well. My hip has given me trouble the last few years but I seem to be bouncing back faster every time now.

a little steel bending

i mismanaged my time and had to drop some accessory work in order to cut some materials for upcoming projects.

bench 155x10,10,10,7,10

Hopefully the weather will get better soon and I can head outside for some activities.

Fri.

squat up to 245x5, loaded 265 on the bar and stared at it for awhile.

bench up to 205x3, loaded 225 on the bar and then quit.

i am supposed to be doing quite a few more exercises each day but everything feels so awful I can’t even.

bp 160 x 10,10,10,9,9

forgot pullups. Felt awful.

after living here for a few years I finally started to get my outdoor training area together. It’s nowhere close to right or done but I can’t wait for things that may never come. My stone platform is in position. I also got the yoke cleaned up and awaiting paint and final assembly.

several light keg loads to platform.

it was nice outside so I figure why not. I grabbed an axle and some weights and went out into the yard.

bent over row 120 5x10

club swings

i stopped here because the hamburgers and bratwursts weren’t going to grill themselves.

 

thurs.

bench 205x5, 225 3x2r

shrugs 225 3x10

i am really bad about doing the accessories and didnt this day either. 😔

bent over row 160x5 + more sets

kb press 3x5

reverse hyper 30 3x5

wrist curl 100 5x5

i grilled corn on the cob and cheeseburgers and watered my garden between sets.
