Guest nygripfan
I joined a while ago but never introduced myself. My name is Brian and am from New York City. Compared to what you guys do gripwise, I'm a complete beginner. I've come to within ¼ inch from closing the #2 gripper. At this point my pinch and thick-handled lifts aren't worth mentioning. I've been interested in grip for quite some time now…and would be more proficient at it had I stayed consistent in my workouts. I have yet to lay down a good plan that I can stick to. I found that the hardest thing about training is staying mentally focused and concentrated and sticking with it through the long haul. The grip feats that you guys do are really impressive…I'm lucky to be able to rub elbows with the best in the game. -Brian
terryduty
Welcome. nygripfan! Don't worry about being a beginner, remember everyone here had to start somewhere! My recommendation is that you develop a training plan, and try to stick to it! I suggest that if you don't already have one, start a training log. And if you lose focus, write that in the log. Review the log often and see if you can plan other activities around your training schedule-instead of thru it! I believe that making your training sessions a priority is the key to staying focused. Good luck and keep us informed of you progress! Strongman
