This is the last session in my gym, before everything gets packed up for storage before the move.  Kinda bittersweet before the chaos.

Today was my first day at the commercial gym.  Just trying to mess around with stuff and get used to things/equipment that is unfamiliar to my own stuff.  The place is pretty good ... not any grip stuff or fat bars, but they have some decent Rouge bars that should be OK for me to squat and deadlift with.  I already miss my stuff though.  One thing I don't miss, and was reminded of it instantly, is the "gym scene."  Of all the things I did today, almost everyone that was there when I got there, was still there when I left.  :rolleyes

Squats went OK today, but the powerrack is right in front of a mirror, which really was messing me up.  Just totally throwing off my balance.  I might turn the other way, and go out backwards, or wear sunglasses, to blockout the mirror.

The bench at the gym is a little awkward, as they have pegs at a 45 degree angle, which sit a little deep, making it tough to get the bar out without a spotter, without losing your form.  I'm just going to have to get a lift-off for anything on the heavy side I guess.

I totally got messed up with the mirror on the first 405 squat ... just not looking where I should of been, and missed it halfway up.  I also had to wait about 20 minutes for the squat rack.  :rolleyes

Overall, a pretty good session at the commercial gym.  Grippers felt pretty weak though, later in the day.

Grippers felt a little better today, than the past week.  I am going to be getting the rest of my grippers, and some other grip stuff out of storage soon, and can't wait to start mixing things up again.  I was going to try the Grade 8 in IMPs, but my hands were hurting after the 18/64, so I bumped up to BBW.

I was able to get through all of the bends today, but it was tough.  When the 1/4" square felt rough, I knew it was going to be a challenge today.

I think I could've gotten a third rep on the 305, but started sliding a little and would've been in danger of hitting the uprights on the ascent for the next rep.

I ended up stopping at 250 on bench, as it is just too awkward and stressful on the shoulders to get the bar out of the hooks at the commercial gym.  And there was no one around that I felt comfortable getting a lift-off from.  Sumo pulls felt pretty strong with the loose briefs.

We ended up taking a winery tour near Erie, so this abbreviated session was in the hotel.  I was only able to grab a few of my grippers and ended up taking a bigger jump than I usually do on the easier ones.

I am really starting to like the standing dumbbell presses.  I don't own many dumbbells, and don't have any heavier ones (just some singles for grip-stuff and pinch).  Once I get back to my home gym, I am going to start using my adjustable handles a lot more.  Just need to get some clips that fit and should be able to start working these in regularly.
