I got my BSS Hub today and put it to work.  Definitely a pretty awesome piece of equipment!  In my over-enthusiasm, I ended up tearing my thumb pad up though.  I'm hoping with some work with it, to hit 70lbs. soon.

I tried a few attempts with the BSS shallow hub.  Just couldn't get it to feel right.  The Grade 8 double underhand felt pretty strong but just couldn't get it going again after the first two hits.

My last hub attempt was for the Top 10 on the BSS Leaderboards.  It measured out to 67.5, but weighed in at 65.1/65.2.  Upon further inspection, the scale was a little slanted, half on a thin layer of carpet, which might have lowered the number.  I am going to keep hitting the hub pretty hard, with hopes of getting 70lbs. soon for a cert.  Unfortunately, my thumb pad keeps ripping open, so it's just managing that now between attempts.

I was able to take down a Grade 8 bolt in single IMPs for the first time in probably 3 years.  The bend was tough, but went to about 50 degrees in two hits.  I made 2 attempts at 70 on the Barrel Strength Systems Hub for a cert, but missed a few inches off the ground on both.  (The actual weight of everything was 68.4.)  My Hub strength is coming back and I'm going to continue to focus on this and the IM Hub, and try to raise both numbers up.

I made an attempt at a 500lb. squat for the first time in close to 3 years.  Nothing Earth-shattering, but the older I get, the more difficult it is becoming to keep some of these weights up.  Bodyweight is about 200lbs.  I got the 70lb. hub about an inch off the ground, but couldn't hold it.

I only had about 50 minutes today, but ended up getting a ton done.  It turned into a nonstop attack, with almost zero rest between any of the sets.  I broke 35 on the Stub a few inches, but couldn't hand on.  35 on this would tie a PR.  Grippers felt pretty strong today, with the sets of 3.  The third-rep on the #2.5 just touched.

Pulls felt pretty brutal today.  455 turned into a grinder, after botching the set-up a little.  I decided to do a few chin ups, and see how my wrists felt.  It turns out, they felt awesome!  I haven't done chin-ups in years, but was able to pound out a few easy sets with no pain.  Doing pull ups after deads and some chin-ups made them really tough.  I'm going to start working chin-ups into my routine, maybe even with some added weight.

Yes, I started bending horseshoes again.  :blush  The other day, I was driving by Tractor Supply and for some reason still unexplained, I pulled-in and thought I'd take a look around.  As soon as I walked in, I was drawn in the direction of the horse supplies and ended up buying some DC1 and DC0 shoes.  Aside from a quick attempt at a shoe after the Southern Squeeze, I haven't touched a shoe since last summer, and haven't been serious about them in years.  I'm not expecting anything miraculous, but would like to work back up to the Lite Plain #3.  I didn't have my leather wraps on hand, so the first two shoes I attempted were probably more difficult then they had to be.  I was also in track pants, so my unconditioned (to shoe bending) legs were in more pain then they had to be.
